i am in the process of building a pretty simple sealed box that is tailored specifically to the protege trunk. here's some pics, and ask me if you want any more details about it. keep in mind it's unfinished, but you should be able to get the general idea.

If you want to keep the pass-through in the rear seats then you'll need to go sealed or a 28-30hz bandpass firing sideways or upwards (not to the front or rear). If you don't mind losing trunk space then you can make anything all the way up to what Got Wake? did. For subs, don't skimp on something crappy. Do a little research into brands on here; check the 1000$ audio challenge sticky or ask us our opinion based on what you want. We won't steer you wrong!

I might be going to get a new box tommorow..... plus new subs plus new amp... well I might wait 2 weeks.. but I'm gonna go get an estimate after I put on my pirelli snow tires I have too many projects going on at once... I hope I can afford to paint my kit before the first car show

Alpine 12" Type R's, boxes made to spec from yellow carbon kevlar weave.

The amp tray is motorized and lifts up to access the spare tire.

The box was actually built by a former fellow member named MaxxBling, I believe. He made a couple for some other people too, but then it got to be too much trouble for him, so he stopped making them. It is a custom job and fits pretty well on that side, you do lose your jack in the side compartment, but no biggie. It can be put elsewhere or in my case store it in the garage along with the spare tire. Anyway, it could use some touching up for aesthetic purposes but overall, I am pleased with it. I hope to put the system on Got Wake's meter next time he is in town.
