Post DSM AFC Dyno Results

Well, looks like I have no self control. Vibrant exhaust and Kartboy hangers purchased this morning. I'll probably get around to installing them the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Got the Kartboy hangers + Atomic Fireball on Friday. Pretty fast shipping for being USPS Priority from CA.

Any guesses as to what I'm going to put down with the Vibrant + AFC and stock 6psi and 9psi? Here are my guesses:

Yeah kartboy definatly rocks!

I would love to see numbers like that(i just got on the AFC GB), but they may be a slight bit high.

I figure the numbers before the boost increase are going to be pretty close. Vibrant did a dyno conparison stock versus their exhaust and came away with 22whp. Plus when I push the car I can feel the exhaust suffocating the engine. 200whp is my short term goal, hopefully I can make it there without a lot more $$ invested. I want to get a single/dual stage MBC so I can do stock boost most of the time and 9psi when I want it. I'm searching for a good price on the Turbosmart Single Stage or Dual Stage, but so far I can't seem to find one for less than $165 new. For that price I might as well get a Greddy Profec II for $250 used.

I'll keep everyone posted of course. Exhaust "should" be here before Turkey day. I mean I can't see it taking more than 3 days to get to VA from Texas. I should be able to get it installed the weekend of December 2nd, weather pending. I'm hoping the snow holds off till the new year.

Holy shizzle, my exhaust is here already. All I have to say, is (thumb) to Crossover Auto Performance for getting me my exhaust in 2-3 days. FedEx put up a delivery status of "Package not due for delivery". wtf does that mean? That better not mean, "we have it, but we scheduled it for delivery on Wednesday, so we're keeping it till Wednesday". That would really piss me off. I wonder if I could go pick it up tonight. Time to call FedEx.

w/ your mods you'll likley be spiking 9-10psi and holding 7-8. thats what mine and many others do w/ similar mods.

i think you'll make some pretty nice gains but will be shy of 200whp.

hope i'm wrong tho, good luck and keep us up to date.

I plan on setting the MBC so I get a peak boost at whatever and it holds at 9psi.

MAYBE 183 WHP THATS IT. I put down 193 whp and 201 tq. so dont be dissapointed if its less

I'd say you'll make between 200 and 205 whp at 9 psi with your mods. Let us know how it goes!!

I am missing some parts from my exhaust and Crossover took care of it by getting me another hardware kit. Hopefully it gets here by Friday because I want to put it in this weekend. The weather should cooperate this weekend, so I'm hoping the rest of the hardware gets here in time. I could dyno next week if I get it in this weekend.

Probably around 205whp....205wtq because I have a similar setup to you with my P5 msp and it done 192.6whp 198.5wtq at 9.5psi, FMIC, CAI, only one cat...so you should do better with your extra AFC and exhaust.

Sweet. Hopefully we'll find out before I go away for Christmas. I'll get the exhaust (some minor items to take care of) and the MBC taken care of this weekend. Weather pending I should be able to get the MBC dialed in to 9psi, then I can do two runs, one stock and one 9psi.

Let me know if you car quiets down when you connect the other 2 bolts on the J and then put the right gaskets in.

Sweet. Hopefully we'll find out before I go away for Christmas. I'll get the exhaust (some minor items to take care of) and the MBC taken care of this weekend. Weather pending I should be able to get the MBC dialed in to 9psi, then I can do two runs, one stock and one 9psi.

Like I said before, right now it really isn't a volume issue right now, it's a frequency issue. It seems to resonate a a low bass frequency that vibrates my ear drums (only slightly, but still noticable). Maybe there's a reason why they named the company "Vibrant". Just kidding. Putting the correct hardware in will probably quiet it down, but the dynamat in the trunk should be the icing on the cake for in-cabin noise. I think I'll do the deck and doors next. I guess I just get into phases, so one Dynamat purchase for part of the car will lead to more to cover a majority of the car.

I was a lazy s*** this weekend and got nothing done. I used the wet parking lot and cold weather as an excuse to get nothing done on the car. The fiance is leaving on Friday, so I'll have plenty of time to get the exhaust finished up and possibly get it on the dyno next week.

Ok guys, Rawyzf donated some $$ to help me get my car on the dyno so we can compare apples to apples with the AFC and Vibrant exhaust. Car will be going on the dyno next week unless the performance shop is closed for some reason. I'm going to see if I can weasel another run out of them (they only give me 2) with my custom map. Otherwise, it's going to be a stock boost run and a 9psi run with the supermap on the AFC. I'll create a new thread when I get the files from them so I can display all the pretty graphs for everyone to see.

Dyno run scheduled for Monday at 10am. The guy said I can do one run at stock boost, change the MBC to 9psi, and possibly get a third run in with my custom map. Guess we'll see. Now I have A LOT of work to do this weekend getting the MBC in, exhaust tightened down and gasket put in, Dynamat install, and now I need to get the map tightened down too. Guess I can do the map and MBC at the same time, since both will require street runs. Hopefully the new exhaust won't have the stupid suburbanites calling the cops on me.
