possibly a HUGE problem

So i just rolled over my warrenty, im at 51k miles now and 2nite my decides to start making a nice clunking sound between 3500 and 4000 rpms. I blew the motor in my last car and from what i remember it sounding like i dont think im in good shape. I didnt throw any CELs though and it still drives fine, just gotta really bad knock under the hood. It sounds like its comin from the passengers side, so anyone know anything about cars can feel free to get a hold of me and maybe you can hear what it does.
And the BS part is that my warrenty JUST got up, i think if i take it to the dealer and they wont help me then im callin mazdausa.

torn motor mount??? can you describe the problem a bit more...?? is it just enigine knock? is it a vibration? is it a specific gear or every gear at that rpm range? good luck with taking it into the dealer... as you are only a smidge over your warranty i would hope they do the right thing...

it doesnt do it in a certain gear, just all of them. the only thing that makes me think its not a engine knock is th fact that once i get above 4k rpms it stops. i thought if it was a engine knock it would increase in speed the same as the rpms??it could be a motor mount because right b4 it happened i peeled outta a parkin lot.

does anyone know where all the motor mounts are at on the 3?? i saw the one on the passesnger side but thats it. I think im gonna take my floor jack to work today and see if i cant fiure this out.
and on the bright side if it is a blown motor i gotta excuse to get new internals the other goodies.

How in the world do you have 51k miles already. You must really love the zoom zoom. There is a TSB that just came out for one of the motor mounts. Maybe if your lucky that could be your problem.

My job is about 50 miles from my house so theres 600 miles a week, not including the nites i have to go to school. thats another 20 miles the opposite way. Does anyone know anything about this TSB for the motor mount??? which one it is cuz i got under the car and the lower rear mount is still there and the one up top on the passenger side is still good.

The TSB is for the upper mount on the pass side.

I didnt exactly verify it, i just kinda looked at, then hit it a few times and it seemed pretty "together" to me.lol. no but really it LOOKS ok. yea maybe if your gonna be around my area this weekend you could stop by cuz im definately leaning more towards some internal problem rather then a motor mount. now it knocks at idle and the knocking speeds up with my rpms. anyways im gonna take it to the dealer tomorrow and hope that sumthin good comes outta it and if not then ill be ridin the crotch rocket for a while.
oh yea didnt i see somewhere some cosworth forged internals?? maybe ill get those and then the hiboost kit....maybe.

Update

ok so goldwing and i met up and he listened to it and we both agree it Sounds like a rod knock of some sort. I was a quart and a half low on oil so i added some and now im gonna take it into the dealer and see about gettin it done under warrenty. ill update and let everyone know what happens.

Update

So i just got off the phone with 2 mazda dealers and mazdaUSA and they all told me that i have to take the car into the dealer and have them look at it, then possibly disassemble the motor THEN see if its my fault (which knowing mazda it will be) then if its not sumthin that i did then they MIGHT pay 50% or sumthin BS like that....
