Possible to turn off the street name display on top of screen?

On cars with navigation, the street name you're about to pass pops up automatically on the top of whatever screen your on while driving. This happens even when you're not actively using the navigation function. I can't figure out how to turn this off short of removing the navigation SD card. Anyone have this same annoyance?

I don't find it annoying either, doesn't bother me lol

With the old navi on CX9, it picks the streets it wants to show names.
The selection is usually quite unrelated to your current routes. That is dumb.
The one on Mazda3 is great, IMHO. I don't find it annoying, either.

There is a setting in the nav menu to turn that off. I think it's under notifications, maybe? My kids like that feature.

I can't find a setting to turn it off. I don't mind it but wish they would shorten the field to that you could still see the phone and wifi status icons.
