Check this out:

what if you used PVC pipe to make you IC plumbing, even if only temporary? Paint it up - wouldn't look half bad probably. i wonder if it would shield the charge air from the ambient engine heat better than alum.??

Not sure how you'd mount a BOV though. Hmmm.

Anyone ever tried this? (and lived to tell about it he he)

(headshake C'mon man I'm sure you could make it work, but the stock stuff probably looks better and you would still have to ghetto-rig a flange for a bov. I would not bother and just save some $$ up. At least get some ebay piping or something if you want to make your own kit.

Copper is pretty expensive right now, that would cost an arm and leg. If you were just looking at heat conductivity then steel pipes are better than copper (steel is also the heaviest unfortunatly), aluminum is teh suckage.

it's true the eBay piping would probably be a better solution i suppose.

for the BOV i could get one of those eBay adapter pipes too to go with the PVC though.

i dunno. it does sound pretty ghetto fabulous

it would look like a plummer got under the hood of your car and went to town. you honk your horn and it flushes your radiator

complete FMIC plumbing for only $29.95. Plumbers crack not included!

Would PVC hold up to the heat in the engine bay? There has bound to be some intake tubing on Ebay you could chop up and make work.

I think it would do okay in the heat. it just wouldn't hold the original pressure that it's rated for, which is way up there compared to what we're talking about here.

yes, there are tons of intake system on eBay and the like that I could chop and use couplers. That's probably what I'll end up doing. But they always include only the one diameter piping.

probably order at cxracing.com instead. they seem to have good prices on tubing, even ind. pieces.
