poly mounts !!!!!

i got my new mounts from mazda motor sports today!!!! installed them be4 noon, they work great, so far less wheel hop from 1st 2 2nd. prepare for lots of vibration from the mounts at idle with the a/c on! but the motor doesn't move around at all. no backlash at shifts. lookin 4 ride comfort not 4 u. now, lookin to get my valves in 20 days to finish the p&p job on my head!

Is there anything that's kind of middle of the road between stock mounts and yours?

Do these mounts void your warranty? Where can I get them from, a website woudl be nice. and Price please....

why does everyone think that a mod will void your warranty just because the car didn't come with it.

any way, how long did it take you to install them?

I ask that cause everytime I mod my car, my dealership will not service my car on any warranty stuff. I had a hesitation on my last car and they mechanic blamed my power wire for my amp as the cause and it's not OEM so they will not look at the warranty. He said whatever mazda nor them installed on the car and is somewhat linked to it... they can refuse you, I woudl rather jsut skip the hassle all together....

dude, i think you need to check out the sema.org site and find out a little more about aftermarket stuff and your warranty so you have some backing next time something like that happens. really, they cannot dishonor your warranty unless they can prove that the modification directly lead to the cause for repair. for instance, they would not have to honor your headlights if you stuck higher wattage bulbs in them and they made the housings melt. that kind of stuff.

i got them from mazda motorsports. cost $127.00 (u.s.), plus the usual taxes & shipping. the pix is on awrracing.com. install time 4 me about an hour. i heard to leave the back mount next to the fire wall stock, don't know 4 sure. as far as warrnty that is going to be up to the dealer, get 2 know the techs, they can help u! but there are a**holes out there!! as far as voiding warrnty, no, noise and vibrations ,yes. but it would be hard to say that the mounts caused the motor or trans to break, unless u dumped the clutch at 5000,speed shiffting,or bolts broken off. a good tech nows what to look 4.

Well I will get the mounts cause I hate the tire hope and that engine moves so much I am sure there is some power loss to the wheels with that. If it only takes 1 hour to do..... then I can easily put the stock ones back on in an hour..... LOL

Hey mazdamastertech, Can you give us an idea on how to install these and what is needed? I asume it is pretty easy since you did it in an hour? I thought you would need to drop the engine for this but I guess not. Let us know man. Thx

the front mount is two 17mm nuts on the crossmember and one 17 nut holding a bolt through it, then lift it out, reverse procedure on the install. the rear is alittle harder, keep in mind i do this for a living and i had acess to a lift. look behind the throttle body at the motor mount bracket there is a 10mm bolt attached to it and a small bracket (remove the bolt). now you need to lift the car to acess three 17mm bolts holding the mount to the trans. then remove the 17mm nut for the bolt through the mount (wiggling the motor may be done to push the bolt out). on the bolt there is a rubber anti-vibe ring, don't know the correct term, and a metal spacer they may fall out. keep an eye out for them. on install, it is rubber ring then the spacer on the bolt. you should be able to remove the bracket. now comes the fun stuff. lower the car, grab a 17mm wiggler socket with a long extension. look behind the t-body there is three 17mm nuts hold the mount to the sub frame take them off and the mount should come outfrom the bottom. the back mount is the hardest part. you may have trouble, but keep trying the nuts maybe tight. then reverse it back together. good luck on any do it yourselfer!!

Do you think this is something that may be performed by the dealer? I know I was thinking of having them put these in before they put the engine back in. I guess it might depend on the dealer here in my area. I will ask them I guess.
