CX-7 2.3 Petrol
I'm Nathan, UK, and I now own a CX-7, the 2.3 Petrol one, ('07, Black, Cream Interior).

My first mazda, and the first time I've ever thought to join a forum for a car I owned. Over the last couple of years I've been though: a4, two new avensis (great but boring), a navara (fickle archaic death trap), a passat (piston went through the engine block), vw insignia (loathe and detest, can't even see out of it, feels cheap), new rav4 (loved it), and then the cx-7. I bought a couple and long term hired a few of the others incase you wonder how I go through so many in 2 years. I've come to the cx-7 straight from a brand new top of the range rav-4; I prefer the cx-7.

About 5 weeks in to ownership, very happy, it's such an awesome all round vehicle, services me perfectly as a dad with 3 kids, perfectly as a dog owner that likes to drive up snowy hills/mountains, perfectly as a keen photographer (along with my better half) who travels and explores through all kinds of roads and weather, and best of all, it's great fun when I'm by myself with some good music on :)

Last night I drove around scotland (literally, around it), hundreds of miles on motorway, a roads, b roads, single track roads, through floods, through two different storms with gusts of 90mph, through snow and ice, over mountain roads, pretty much anywhere you can think of. I was happy, comfortable, safe, and so was my mrs in the passenger seat.

I've never been so taken with any car I've owned, it's ridiculously good, the thing still itches to accelerate in 5th/6th at 70+ going up the steepest of gradients where all my other cars had to drop a gear, it's super glued to the road regardless of the weather and speed, it out paces all the best hot hatches, it cruises down the motorways more comfortably than the passat/a4.. the thing feels like audi quality/robustness with better than toyota electrics and equipment.

If I have to fault it, which I must to be fair, it lacks a rear view camera, and I miss digital radio (but then I've joined the forum to see if I can get both of those added!), oh and the clutch can be a PITA around cities in heavy slow moving traffic.

So glad to own this car, so sad that only a few people have this vehicle, and even less in the 2.3 petrol.

(If you're considering buying one, just go for a test drive.. that'll make up your mind).

Welcome!

Great that you enjoy the car so much. Sorry about the past, sounds like you've been though a lot. 3 kids eh? That's a tight fit in a CX-7 unless they are small. So what do you plan on doing to your CX-7, any modifications, upgrades, etc?

Also a few pictures posted would be nice.

Again welcome and enjoy your stay, read most of the CX-7 forums here in about two weeks, take your time and read a few a day, there is some good info here.

Peace! :)
