Please, important question

Hey everybody,

Here's my situation.
I'll be installing my Injen CAI and hardpipes w/ BOV in less than 2 weeks.
My issue is this: Where the MAF was supposed to be (between the 2 Injen pipes) there will now be a big gap. I've tried to locate a 5" long section of 2.75" OD piping (the MAF housing dimensions) to fill the gap, but I can't find jack squat.

Anybody have any suggestions? The folks who have done this - what did you use?

just put a pipe in the place of the MAF.

Yeah, I know. But I can't find 2.75" OD pipes anywhere. I tried Home Depot, Summit, JCWhitney, auto parts stores....I can't find anyone who has 2.75" OD pipes.

when you took off the oem air box,there was a O ring made of rubber on 1 end of the box,the rubber O ring acts as a seal,and its about 1/4 inch tick,so me i took that O ring,and put it on the front side of the maf,and it fits perfect with my filter adapter....hope this help you....is that what you wanna know?

The Injen intake is manufactured as though the MAF will be placed in between the two Injen pipes. Since I will be relocating the MAF to the pressure side just before the throttle body, I will no longer have anything between the two Injen pipes. The MAF is about 5" long and has an outer diameter of 2.75" so I need a pipe that is exactly those dimensions so I can place it where Injen expects the MAF to be.

I would try any steel/metal supply shops or what you can do for the time beign.. go to home depot or any hardware store.. (i know you will laugh) go to the plumbing section and PVC piping.. toilet pipe is pretty big in diameter you may be able to find a rubber fitting.. i can take a pic of what i have i used it on my integra until i got a short ram.. people laughed but hey piping is piping

the adapter is 3 inches inner diameter but im sure they have a various amount of them i dont remember...

Dude, that's awesome. I had a very similar setup on my 95 Probe GT. I made a cold-air intake using a heat-shielded filter from Summit Racing like this and the same type of PVC tubing and the same couplers. I clamped a coupler to the end of the filter housing and connected 3" PVC piping. This allowed me to keep the filter high up in the engine bay and route the tubing to the fender for cold air. CAI without risk of submerging the filter or even getting it wet.

yeah and the funny part is .. i got the short ram.. it sounded and felt the exact same as the pvc pipe with a filter on the end lol like i said pipe is pipe as long as its the same inner diameter air is going to flow just the same.

that's my quick fix idea lol but since you got a couple weeks you can try what the other guys have said and ya never know if it comes down to it you could always throw a coupler in like the ones we had to wait for other parts.

I considered doing that, but I like the idea of a CAI setup better than an underhood open filter w/ a heat shield. Also, the second Injen pipe has the hole for the IAT sensor. I feel better about having a clean IAT install rather than leaving it dangling around the engine bay.

just drill a new iat sensor hole....I had this setup for a while. It sounds better imo.
