please help me with my first gear

i dont know if this is what u mean but i recently fitted a pod filter to my standard induction using the factory ecu and programming and now i lose a small amount of rpm when i snap the accelerator open quickly i lose rpm like its about to stall then the rpm just redlines in an instant. if this is the case it could be your induction or air/fuel settings. to avoid detonation after changing from the factory airbox without changing ecu settings make sure you run on high octane premium fuel. this could help you but im not too sure as air/fuel settings are different in australia and our fuel is s***.

Hey if I were you I'd check your service invoice to see if they really did flash your ecu. It seems to me that alot of dealers don't know what the flash is yet, and they may have just said "yeah we did it," when in reality they didn't do s***. That certainly sounds like the characteristics of an unflashed MSP.

how much do you guys rev to before you even go from a stop? i rev to about 2k before i let the clutch out. that seems to be the smoothest.

little to none on flat ground. on a hill, 2k. i think i've gotten the transition down pretty good for this being my first manual :). i started out revving to 2k to keep myself from stalling.

flat ground I usually catch and release the clutch around 700-800rpm, hill is usually 1000-1200 and depending on the downhill, usually second gear or 700ish rpms
