Pissed - can't get engine cover off - dealer cross-threaded bolt

yea are these good for RVing ? I might try some hill climbing tonight, plus it's got almost a full tank of gas - so some joy riding is in order. Looks like I got her for the entire weekend. I was expecting it to be faster - feels like a dog compared to the MS3.
yea its not bad for suv my sister has one in red.....that is definitely gonna be fun...i dont do s*** like that in my sisters cuz its my sisters...but i do burnouts and s*** in the dirtand do some messing around ...but it shouldbe good on climbing stuf since its 4x4 and has some nice clearance

Update #2 - The saga continues DEALER DENTED MY CAI

The Happy ending - is not so happy.
Well I got my Speed3 back today. Recall from previous posts that the dealer agreed to fix the bolt he cross-threaded and install my Mazda CAI for free to restore confidence. The car runs great. Got her home and opened up the hood: UNREAL, I know for sure there was no dent as I took everything out when I got it and it was perfect. Humm are the Mazda techs gorillas? Now what?

they are smoking rocks! GET them to get u a new one, full exhaust and upgraded turbo. Or better yet a free ms6 to go along with the ms3

Holy Piss! That's just f*cking ridiculous!!! I'm gonna go over my car when I get it back from the dealership tomorrow to make sure everything's ok after they replace the intake manifold valve.

Time for you to unleash all sorts of unholy hell!

This is exactly why I do all of my own work.

Humm, well I thought I was getting a good deal getting them to install the CAI, how hard is it to screw that up? Apparently it's not that hard if you're a monkey with a set of tools. (huh) What is so crazy about this whole situation is they knew I was PISSED about incompetent workmanship from the last visit (crossthreaded bolt), so you would think they would go out of their way to make this install PERFECT.

It was probably an accident..Most likely a dropped ratchet..and the tech may have not even noticed it..but still not an excuse.

Gotta believe it was an accident, but their review of the finished work is dismal at best. I'm gonna see how much free stuff I can get out of them for my aggrivation and utter waste of time and gas pissing around with all this crappy workmanship.
CBE at dealer cost ? Installed free ?
Gift card X hours of free service ?

man, i think they owe you plenty now, 20 miles probably joy riding in your car, screwed up and EASY bolt to put in, and now they mess up your intake!!!! I would get them to replace the intake, and then stop going to that dealership all together, find a different one. They obviously can't do the simplest jobs, imagine if they needed to REALLY work on your car!!!

I wonder if it was done on purpose? Just curious. I'm not too sure how that dealer works or pays it's mechanics. But I think... I think... usually if the mechanic says they fixed something... and they don't. They don't get paid to work on it again. I think thats how some dealers are. But that's just what I heard from a Toyota dealer mechanic here. So if the service manager told the guy (who F'd up your car the first time) to install the CAI for free... maybe he got pissed since he wasn't getting paid for the job. I dunno. Just speculation on my part. But sucks to see that s*** happen..... I'd find a new dealer! Even if it's a long drive!!

yeah techs don't get paid for "come backs"

UPDATE #3 Dealer Dented my NEW MS3 CAI

OK, here's an update:
Called the dealer this morning, spoke with service manager.
Here's the conversation:
Me: You are not gonna believe what's up with my car now.
Dealer: I know what you are gonna say, your CAI has a dent in it.
My tech noticed that after he had it installed, he called me over to verify it.
Me: Is this the same tech that cross-threaded my bolt?
Dealer:No, this is my best tech, hand-picked by me.
Me: I had the CAI in my hands after I unpacked it and was admiring it and it was definitely not dented.
Dealer:Well my tech did not do it, I trust him at his word.
Me: If the CAI was dented when you started on it, why didn't I get a call and why didn't you inform me of this yesterday when I picked up the car?
Dealer: Tech didn't see it until the job was finished.
Me: Well I think he dropped a wrench on it or something and didn't want to accept responsibility for it.
Dealer: (Gets mad now - raises voice) What will it take to make you happy?
Me: I want the piece that is dented replaced.
Dealer: That will cost me over $300
Me: No the dealer cost is $240, and I will install the new part myself.
Dealer: Do you know the part number ?
Me: I look up the part number and give it to him.
Dealer: I will call you when the part comes in.
Me: OK fine, I will be looking forward to your call.

End of conversation. I won't be letting those clowns touch any of my cars again. Sad thing is they have done everything fine for over 2 years. There best tech left a few months ago and so did some of the other cool people they had in their service dept. I bet they were just hoping I won't even notice the dent - what a bunch of losers.

Dent that looks like it has a fuking hole in it! I dont think a dropped wrench would do that. I bet the dude who F'd up your bolt, got his ass chewed, saw your car in the shop. He then went over and took a ball peen hammer and gave your intake a little whack, when nobody was around. The tech installing probably came back saw the dent and was like WTF.

Sounds like you should call Mazda of North America. I had a similar experience where the dealer would not work on my auto tranny on my AccordV6 when it wad obviously slipping. All they would do was change the tranny fluid. This happened over the course of six months. One call to Honda NA and the dealer was calling me asking why I called them and what would it take to get "Outstanding" service. Got a new tranny installed within a week and they put me on loaner.

Sometimes you have to bypass the chain of command to get sh!t done.

one of the mechanics probably took it out to impress some girl.

(cryhard) YOu're not serious with that statement are you? Our cars aren't all that visually impressive. We ain't driving a Ferrari. LOL!

Depends how old the girls were!! hehe..

Anyways... Good to hear that they will replace the part. Sucks that it happened. Kinda reminds me of restaurants. You complain about the food being too cold, or not not fully cooked or whatever... Then they take it out back... spit in it.. (or other nasty things...) Then hand it back to you with that I'm soo sorry face.. hehe... (pukey)
