Pimp my ride

Confusion

Do you think people would donate money to me if i created a website with a list of possible things id like to do to my protege.

Could make updates and post pictures of the new gear / mod on car.

If i wasnt 16 id think of this as foolish , but the fact that i have a hard ass time getting money besides my job sucks.

Imagine being 16 with car payments , insurance , and other random expenses when your getting paid 6.50 an hour.

Just an idea.

I understand just where your coming from. I bought my MSP in Jan of 2005 at 16 years old. I just turned 18 last month and between car payments and insurance it was a pain in the ass to get where i am.. But to be truthful i dont think many people would donate.

Um, no. Nobody "donated" any cash to soup up my car when I was a sprout. What makes you so special?

The fact that im aware that lots of people have random money and donate. No one is going to donate unless you ask for it. Have you ever been to SmashmyIpod.com or random sites of kids doing stupid s***. They have thousands of dollars donated just so people can see the outcome and get a better use of some cash , rather than waisting.

I'd donate some money to SmashMyMazda.com and watch you do stupid s*** like taking a baseball bat to your car

also, you could have bought a cheaper car. my first car was a saturn because i knew i couldnt afford much of a car. i feel no sympathy for people who live beyond their means.

eh, I'm 21 and with college and bills, I don't have a lot of spare $$ to mod either.

My suggestion is to look for the cheap/free mods to make your car standout. You know, stuff you can do yourself. Look around the site and at the How-Tos, there are plenty of low budget ideas/mods.

Get a better job. I had no problem finding a job that paid $9-$10 an hour when I was 16, and that was 9 years ago.

if you setup a website for donating money to your car, it'd cost you more to keep the site up than what you'd received in "donations"

You can "Pimp my Protege" (or the opposite) on here and Mazda Forums will take 50% of all donations for supporting and promoting your cause ;) or like some said...Get a better job!

In anycase...Got (pics)

just look for deals and work slowly on saving up for mods u want to keep!
doing the work yourself/with friends will make modding alot cheaper and more gratifing!!!

just my opinion

Sound advice...When I was 16...I had a car but no job and little money...I worked with my dad and saved up for mods with the help of birthdays and xmas...plus my dad helped me install the mods once I was able to buy them...Slowly but surely it worked out really well!

please make donations to the marcneedsmoneyfortracktimebecausetiresentryfeesandothermodscostlotsofmoneythatidonothave fund while everyone is emptying their wallets.

i wont give him any s*** (honestly i thought about it before) but i feel better budgiting my hard earned money to buy every piece of my car (i am in the military and dont make much $)

imo read alot about every mod before you buy it so you know what you will get and it is what you want! dont use credit cards for mods or loans because they will cause fustration for months to come. To appreciate any mod i feel u need a goal of the final project first and save for every piece! once u save enough buy that part and cross it off your list and imo that feels great!! learn how to weld and basic auto mechanics and install everything yourself! you will save over 50 percent on mods if you and friends can do the install!! I started building my own parts to be origional and save money i.e. redesigned turbo kit w/a t3/t04e and harness bar!

In the end imo you will enjoy driving your car much more if you get your hands dirty and have no debt for any modification!

my first car was a 66 chevy impala ss 396. I couldn't afford to put gas in the thing...let alone "Pimp it out".
My suggestion...spend your cash on more tangeble items.

My first car was a beat up 73 Covertible Super Beetle... (Got it when I was 15) I worked my ass off to fix it (Painted houses/did lawns + saved every penny) @ 16 when I set out to college I had two part time jobs.

Took me almost two years to get everything up to date...but there was nothing better than sitting back and looking at her Curved body style and just telling myself "HA...that’s mine"

Candy apple red / EMPI-style 5 spoke rims/Beige leather interior/A new 2054cc engine w/dual Weber's...and all the other little toys (Including a custom rack for my surf board)... Girls at the beach loved it (first)

I guess what I'm trying to say is... you work hard or harder for what you want in life... the end result is satisfaction; knowing that every screw and knob on the car was put there by your hard work... not any hand me down crap. This in turn shows you the meaning of achieving something, helping you later in life with more important things.

(God I sound like my Dad....Scary)
