Pillar dual guage pod and boost guage install?

:
Mazdaspeed Protege 2003.5
I ended up picking up the Autometer dual 2 1/16th pillar pod for my MSP along with a boost guage and soon I'll have an oil temp guage. My question is, how hard is the install going to be? I did a search and couldn't find anything on any specifics of the install. I"m primarily worried about how to run all of the wires/tubing into the engine bay and how much (if any) of the dash do I have to remove. Thanks for any help on this because I want to be prepared before I sit out there in 30 degree weather freezing my ass off! :p

Ive only installed my boost guage. This was the first real car "mod" i had ever done. Took me less than a hour, its reallllllyyyy easy, as far as runnin the line thru the firewall, i used a coat hanger and just pushed it thru :P

up above your gas pedal, or below the glove box there are rubber gromets going through the firewall.. I just use one of the 2 when going through the firewall. I use a fish to get through, but a hanger works just as good.

Install is simple, just becareful removing the plastic clips in the cold, they like to snapp. You might wanna get a cheap voltage tester so you know which wires to tap.

Thanks for the quick replies. I gotcha loud and clear on the clip issue, my grill on my 92 Jetta was ziptie-a-rific because of broken clips so I'll be extra careful. Jersey, I think I may go with the pressure guage now that I rechecked the price. I thought the electronic one was pretty expensive but I was mistaking that one for the Fuel Pressure Guage. Good call. One last question, does the pillar replace the stock pillar or does it work with it? The Autometer instructions literally say something like "note: the autometer pillar works in conjunction with the stock pillar." Then in step one it says, "Remove stock pillar." Thanks for any other info or pointers, I'm not the best at installations.

Mike
