My dunlops lasted 35k miles, had almost no tread on them. Lots of slipage when road was wet, but nothing that a decent driver couldn't handle. Overall I would say there is way to much blaming the dunlops.

Just out of curiosity, how many miles, if driven on the road (don't know why any1 would, but still...) would falken azenis sports last? Seeing as we're talkin abt tires and all. Random, sorry, but I'm just curious what a 200 tread wear rating means in the real world.

There is no argument that the tires are ok on dry road. But even you admitted there was "lots of slipage when the road was wet". Guess how this wreck happened, on a wet road. Dunflops suck in the rain, period.

My gf has dunlop sport 901's (or something like that) and they're pretty damn good in the rain. This is from personal experience, not just what she told me lol. She got em for pretty cheap @ Sams

stock msp tires are worse in the rain then all seasons. first they are summer tires and second they have more contact patch which causes hydroplaning. Better tires mean you'll just be going faster when you crash. Darwinism at its best. Kids crash STI's and EVO's because they dont' have bad tires and bad traction???

ive driven msp's in the rain, and found them stable and fine with stock tires. you seriously do not understand how bad these tires are. and comparing a protege 5 spinning at 30 mph and what those retards do in sti's and evo's are like comparing apples and bullet trains

I've driven p5s in the rain. they are just fine in the rain or the dry. My friend in autox kicks most peoples ass even with stock tires. I refuse to believe taht tires are the fault of accidents.

is he running dunslops? and no one is disputing dry performance of the dunlop. its fantastic. the wet is dangerous. go take a p5 with dunlops and induce understeer. then try to correct. then come back with pics of your wreck

how is mazda going to know that these tires arent going to work with the 5? im sure with a larger car, a wider tire, etc it would be a fine tire. with the size, suspension set up, and suspension geometry, the car and tires are not a good combo. if these tires are so fine, tell me why my 55 dollar hrated fuzions grip 200 percent better than the dunlops?

p5 isn't a performance car, it never was. Either is the msp. Stop driving it shumacher and people wouldn't crash. My mom uses 25bux nobrand tires on her car, never once has she spun out or got in to an accidents. Tires don't cause accidents, driver error does.

you're an idiot...the tires suck they are awful in the rain...i don't know what part of this you dont get...the ******* tires are awful if there is any sort of moisture on the road i dont care how good a driver you are. the stock dunslops are unpredictable at best and even those who like them for dry conditions they still suck

I never had to adjust my driving style, or use any precautions when driving the stocks in the rain, even after 35k miles on them. The only time I noticed slipping was at launch, the car would slide a little bit, but that was at 35k miles when I decided I should change them. My new tires don't have that slight problem, but than again my new tires don't have 35k miles on them. Otherwise the performance is the same. Kuhmo's is what I got for anyone who wants to know. Don't say that if I got some 300 dollar tires that my car would suddenly turn into a ferrari because it wouldn't. The protege5 doesn't exceed the limitations of many tires.

let's just leave it at this: stock dunlops on the p5 suck on a wet road. at least that's what I think, and a lot of other people do too. some others have their opinions, but the fact of the matter is, they suck. (stash)

seriously though, all I wanted to do was show some pictures cuz I never show pictures of my car on this website...and now it's turned into a big dunlops debate. let's just bring it back to what's important here. I posted pics of my car and I never post pics of my car. but I'm gonna start posting more pics. so stay tuned for pics after it gets all fixed up! (spin)
