Hi gang,

I saw many of your setup on that forum and I finally decided to make my own, So here it is! (naughty)

Radio Pioneer 7600
I have kept the original speaker with the tweeter. They sound good, with more power to drive their butts!

For the sub, an 8" Clarion mounted in a fiber glass box!
It's probably useless to say thatIt's tooooooo looooonnnnggg to make a fiber glass box!

Here it is!

props man, look realyl good. Nice idea putting the amp in withit. How big's that box, though? that looks like alot of airspace for a single 8, yes? Also, how's it mounted? can you still get at your jack and spare and such?

Andyea, fiberglass is fun and satisfying, but DEFINATELY not fast. hell I still haven't really "finished" any of my glass projects.

Nice and clean. You definitely did your homework.

When fiberglass ends up taking longer than expected people usually get lazy and don't pay attention to details. You, however, have created a very simple and elegant install that keeps the wire management clean and displays both the sub and amp without taking up too much space.

Congratulations!

Thanks guys,

Many of you guys have been my inspiration to make this happen!

To answer Poseur questions: The box is split in too half inside, about 1" to the right of the amp, so it make it a little smaller than what you think. But I would have to admit that it's still a little too big, but I have foamed it nicely so it's "almost just fine"!

It's bolted on the jack bolt hole, to remove it i have to remove the speaker, which has metal insert in the wood. I have relocated my jack with the spare tire. Also there is a little bit of space under the box, I can slide the mat underneat it without any problem.

Butyea, good lines, kinda mirrors the taillight design in a way.

ha! It seem to be true, but totally unexpected!

I ended up that way because I wanted to have the sub at near 45 to the rear, so it better for the sound.

damn, thats pretty cool with the box.... I'm sure you are happy with it

I am really happy with it, cause it sound gooood! (eekdance)

Next time, use a large sanding block to sand the enclosure with 80, 180, and 220 grit. Then do it by hand with 400 and 800. That way you don't get teh waves in the figerglass. It can still easily be smoothed out but it you'll have to paint it again later.

a trick for that is to spray a very light layer of dark spray paint on the enclosure, then sand it. when i stay light, i mean just a mist. that way when you sand it, you'll see the waves and dips.

Yeah I know there is still some waves, but It's my first box in fiber glass, and I was a little short on time, because I dont have a garage to work on it and it's was starting to be cold to work outside on it.

I still manage to put a coat of resin before the last sanding, so the surface is evenly smooth and the paint look and feel awsome! (rockon)

Just a tip for next time that all.

Did you layer fiberglass onto the fleece? Typicly that makes getting a smooth surface a b****. The easiest way to get a smooth surfece if you have to bulk it up form outside is to Just slap on a ton of bondo with large strokes with a spreader. Then sand with a block. This tends to keep things nice and smooth.

My mistake was to put not enough bondo, so I was sanding in between to different kind of surface!
