Could everyone with cold air intakes please post pics of their setups? I need to install this ebay cold air and I have no idea how to even get started on it.

Thanks in advanced!

(Starting at the TB) 90 degree rubber elbow, pipe with plug for vacuum hose, rubber coupler, MAF, coupler, pipe with mounting "tounge", coupler, filter. :)

Tip: Put it together first(everything but the filter), then fit it into the car.

Tip #2: Don't take off your bumper to install it. Just unscrew the retainers that hold the plastic liner onto your driver's side wheel well. You can fit the filter in that way if you turn the wheels all the way to the left.

It's a cp racing one that I bought from EssentialSpeed. :)

Nutari, did you figure it out? Don't forget to disconnect the neg battery cable and reset the ecu!

Thanks guys.. My roommate and I figured it out.. I have that same one mountjonas has.

Its nice.. no real gains felt and now there is a loud knocking at idle.. not sure what it is.. maybe the filter hitting the fender.. duinno.. too tired to look right now. gonna check it tomorrow.

I have this problem sometimes on cold start and I can hear it sometimes while driving when hitting 2k in 1st, right now I think the cai is hitting the bay where it goes down into the fender cause its really damn close, gonna put rubber in there and see the difference, could also be my very loose overflow.

i had the same problem. i just loosened all of the joints and adjusted it. fits perfectly now.

anybody else have the annoyance of the thing whistling while running at parking lots speeds? Mine is really loud?

I installed a rubber hose around the panel opening where the piping goes into fenderwell. In hopes it doesn't rub against the metal.

hmm, i've driven at slow speeds with the window down and haven't heard the whisting noise.

i did the same with the the hose around the fender hole.

I hear it on mine. At stoplights too. Freaked me out for a second there.

I found out what this is.. its the solonoid that was attached to the old intake.. I relocated it to the firewall when I installed the ebay intake.. apparently at idle, it opens and closes really fast .. and it resonates the firewall so it sound s really loud inside the car.

Question: where is everyone putting that valve w/ two vacuum lines running to/from it that was near the throttle body on the stock intake? It was held on by a metal bracket on the stock piping. I can't think of any place nearby to zip tie it to...

Thats what my last post was about.. its a solonoid..

I put mine on my firewall, but its gonna get moved.. or insulated with some dynomat type stuff.. I just bolted into some random extra hole on the firewall. If you want pics, I can take em later.

LOL we posted within a minute of each other. Ill look under the hood tomorrow for a place to put it. Thanks
