Piasini tune/flash impressions

Sounds great, but how does this reflash compare to the cobb ap (besides piasini adjusting to your mods) or something like the standback? What I mean to say it after you are reflashed or tuned and running right, how does this differ from everyone else? I ask because I am just about evenly torn between Piasini, Cobb AP, and cp-e standback.... and ready for a tune soon

I think this tune will work with an EMS like Xede or the Standback, but not with the AP, since that flashes the ECU. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you will just have to start out from the beginning if you have an EMS and you get this tune

if you plan to stay moderately moded and don't want to wire into your ecu harness Cobb or piasini is a win .... The standback also has a plug and play harness ovcourse at an added cost .... If your one who likes to flash back to stock alot Cobb is the win win there if you like set it and forget it Piasini will unlock the hidden potential in your car and mods ..... If you want hands on and big turbo builds right now the stand back has that on lock ......wow what a great tuning market for the speeds :)

this is correct you can use the standback over the Piasini flash just like the stock tune you could even use a boost controler if you want to get a reworked turbo and bump the boost up some psi :)

get it man is so worth it my 1st and 2nd gear are pointles because car is burning tires (rockon)
Thats is prolly because you do not have adult wheels and tires. call me when your 0-60s are under or at 5sec. ifyouare shredding 225s, sticky ones, through second and most of third I might take a drive to visit. W. Glad you are pleased and I will talk to you some more soon!!

I think after the fmic I am done for performance, minus the tune, at least for a while. I don't wanna go crazy until the car is paid off. I love the fact that the Piasini can adjust itself and I don't think I would need to swap many maps like with the Cobb to find one I like. I might go Piasini, but then again might go Cobb for ease of install/uninstall with no down time. I can't remember the last time I had a day where I didn't need to drive somewhere

Thanks for the great info so far! One more question, what does the Piasini do about boost? You said before you could throw a boost controller on top... does this mean it stays at stock boost levels unless you adjust it? What about boost cut, is it retained or do you need a map clamp as well?

or maybe the piasni tune unleashes the true power of his existing mods and is just awesome? -- once i get it (read can afford it) i'll be sure to post my impressions

down time thing kinda sucks, but its worth it. honestly i really don't think ur going to regret it...haven't heard of any unhappy customers who have the piasani tune....

Know what, think you're right. Probably gonna work it out so I can get the Piasini.... haven't heard anything bad, and it adjusts, so you can't lose!

wait so.. if you get a piasini.. then get mods after that. it adjust to those mods by itself? so you dont have to do anything? im lost

the tune is able to adjust for moderate mods like the stock tune allows intake/intercooler/tbe ....... Boost is raised target Is 18 psi some see more some see a little less it all depends on how well your car responds.... Overboost cut is raised so yes if you wanted an extra psi or 2 you could dunn a mbc no problem

I will be doing the tune come spring with something, and maybe not my original plan. But I will have all winter to watch the southerns boys and girls dialing in their cars. But I want to run a larger turbo, lag be damned. Can I do this with all the performance bolt ons? IC,TBE, CAI etc. I do not want more boost but my car is very rich especially in the longer gears with heavy throttle. Can the p system manage me?

Have not decided yet, till I fully understand the stock internals. i do not need a big whp 1/4 miler but something that will pull from 80 till the end of 6th gear. and I think the tuning will do this. If we could rev to 6800+ in sixth the car should hit 170 or so. That is where i am headed. Nobody even offers any high revving cams and top end bits that I am aware of for this car? I am always open to tuners ideas on our big 2.3s. let me know or pm me with any details you might share with me buddy.

you will be happy with tune when i was racing with my friend i hit 150 and i didnt realize that. it felt like i was doing 80.....

I will be doing a sst 36lb big wheel
Whoa, Nelson. Are you sure. something has gotta give maybe axles tranny something. You go NY! My boy will tell me what to do. I am just apussy and do not want to buy a block during my driving season. he will run forty on the 1.6 and it works but the Mazda, I will stay at 15-18 on a big dog wheeling and wait for the boost. Wish you well and let the setup trickle down to us kids! bol

The tune can adjust for minor upgrades for example, if you have the tune performed completely stock the car runs great! Then you deciede to install a SRI. The tune will adjust itself to the less restrictive intake you installed as would the stock tune. We are not talking huge adjustments just minor tweeks the ECU will correct for and help gain power upon your mods. Just as the stock tune but with a better result. :D
