ok so ive had the perrin front mount on for awhile and im about to install my bov bc perrin finally got my resized pipes to me but i was wondering, is the 'turkey' supposed to be slower once you put a front mount on? before i had my intercooler the turkey was quick but after the install its like it made the distance between intervals longer.........all this with the stock bpv

heres a before vid:

thats only with a cai (sorry for the gay title, my friend did that)

and after:

you probably noticed the exhaust in the second video but the turkey never changed when i put the exhaust on. im not concerned about this, well atleast dont think i should be. but i was really curious if anyone had some input on this because as of tomorrow there should be no more turkey.

yea it was fun, a real head turner. but its bad for the turbo and im movin on to the dual setup bov/bpv........i woulda done that from the start but perrin made my intercooler wrong, the endtanks were way too long. so i cut the pipes and they offered to send resized pipes, so props to them. and thats why im running just a bpv currently.

btw in that first video it was done on a closed course....by a professional driver......which was me

update: so today i finally installed my hks bov and it sounds pretty good. it still flutters a little bit due to the fact im running the dual setup bov/bpv. cant wait till i get my ebc on there to hold boost, it fluctuates a ton. ill post my vid link once its done optimizing.

Can you post some pictures of ur setup?!?!? with the dual setup in the engine bay

What do you mean when you say turkey? Is that just the stock bpv or the stock bpv with a turkey call attached to it? I'm confused.

Isn't that what the stock bpv sounds like?

i mean turkey cuz thats the sound the stock bpv makes, ive never tried an actual turkey call but im sure that would sound hella funny. if your msp is completely stock you can hear it but anytime you replace your stock plastic intake w/an aftermarket one you really unleash the turkey.

Why is the stock bpv bad for the turbo?

it doesnt release the compressed air, it recirculates it back into the intake so it creates compressor surge and thats what the turkey sound is-air forcing back into the turbo.(im almost certain i know what im talking about here but please correct me if im wrong anyone) id run just a bov but ive heard too much about stalling and dont want to deal with that so i kept the stock bpv and also use a bov. so far it runs great, sounds great. only thing is itll almost stall when the clutch is in and i rev, doesnt do it when the clutch is out. hasnt actually stalled yet but its weird.

Run the signal lines (for the BOV and the BPV) off of the brake booster line and it should clean the rest of that up.

done. have both the bov and bpv coming off the brake booster and have my ebc on the line from the actuator to the manifold.

I have my HKS SSQV on a vac line right from the manifold, but I get turkey like hell. Might be the BOV is stuck and needs a little oiling up though... As long as the vac line that goes to the BOV sees both boost and VAC (same as manifold sees) you will be fine.

shouldnt be getting turkey with just a bov. that means youre surging the turbo. that could either be from the setting of the bov being too tight and not letting enough air out or idk what else. but that def means not enough air is being released when you close the throttle plate.

Ya, screw is all the way loose. So idk??? (ughdance)

do you have one of the older models w/the adjustment on the outside?
