Performance ???'s

O.K. I got the waterpump/alternator pulleys on, and it felt a lot faster in the low end area, then I put my intake and exhaust cam in and man the car has almost no throttle response any more in the low end, but around 4000 rpm it gets real fast and holds it all the way up to 7000, definetly faster, but I lost all my throttle response. So I want to know if there are any fairly inexpensive ways of getting more throttle response, or low end power???

Try a set of adjustable cam gears!

(thumb) good idea!
And yeah, putting the stock cams back in will do it.

Interesting. I've got both cams in and I didn't lose ANY throttle response. The dyno don't lie and I haven't lost anything down low either. I haven't gained any below 3500, but I didn't expect to. I've gained quite a bit above 3500 though:)

The big difference that I made on my car was putting a header on it. You've probably read it already, but I went from 111.8 lb/ft @4250 to 119 lb/ft @4250. You can definately feel it. My torque figures between 2500 and 3500 are also slightly higher than stock so I didn't lose anything. I just looked at my graphs again and I never lost power down low.

If I were you I'd check the cam marks and make sure you got them in correctly. If one of them is retarded then that would explain your lack of throttle response.

They are for a 2000+ celica. You have to do a little triming to the bumper (very little), Mcgiver mounting brackets (I used metal straping) and there you go! Took me about a half an hour to install.

Hey bro, i hope they come out with a 65mm throttle body for u. That's the only way u will get the response back without having to take anything off your car. Best of luck
