People!!! About Gps Flip Up Part And Suspension

has anyone tried saying that the plastic component to the nav system is "broken" and you would like to order a replacement to fix the broken plastic piece =))??

Fat Mike - do you know exactly what is included by the 'entire assembly'. At $2,900cdn, does that include the entire NAV screen and NAV player? That'd be interesting because a non-NAV Mazda3 cannot be retrofitted with the Mazda3 NAV system (way too much time, effort, and cost).

$2900.00 Was for the Nav Screen, Flip Up Part and Control unit that goes beside shifter. THe DVD Reader and GPS Antenna is a seperate piece. Has any one tried ordering the flip up part in the states wiht any luck??

splitvizion - It's essentially impossible to retrofit because there are so many parts & sensors and the wiring is very difficult to do after the vehicle has been assembled (in fact, the wiring would have to be done a bit differently). In terms of cost, it's probably cheaper to trade in the vehicle, take the hit, and purchase another one with NAV.

As an aside, automatic climate control is similar as well. Someone looked heavily into it for a Mazda6 - it's just under 10 sensors, a ton of wiring, and just the ACC unit was well over a grand $US. So similarly, it's cheaper to just trade in and purchase another vehicle with ACC.

alot of people complain of the acc cause instead of staying at a constant setting it changes automaticly...sometimes it's not as comfortable as you would like it. We all have regrets on the options we did and didn't get....way of life...

i spoke with a couple mazda dealers (including the one in florida), it does not appear that its possible to purchase just the navigation housing. The part number given above is for the normal top dash center piece. If someone comes up with somehting else soon, let me know or im just gona make my own.

we just replicated the stock fold up monitor for our project car, and we plan to make it available. I will post pics after HIN chicago this weekend.

This is not true. I own both the 6 and the 3. My 6 has ACC and I can set it to Auto or Manual. Maybe other countries can't, but in the US you can change to either setting. Just an FYI

I would be interested in this if the quality and finish match the
Mazda 3 dash. What kind of lcd panel did you mount in it?
Is it a touchscreen? I sat in a Mazda 3 with the stock Nav unit
and I thought the lcd screen is set a little to far back to reach
for a touch screen. I could reach it but it was a stretch. The closer
the screen is to the driver the more pratical it would be.

Well it is to far set back for touch screen, we will be using a gyroscope mouse (works in the air) for pc operations, otherwise possibly configure voice control. The screen is brand new, should be on the market come SEMA this year, its power acoustik. Sounds funny cause some of their products are second rate, but i promise you its the best monitor on the market. People literally stared into the car watching the screen for 10 minutes at a time. There is no fade on this screen from any angle. All in all the module will cost around $500 (hopefully less) and will be motorized fold up. i plan to post pics from HIN chicago, of the prototype we had in the car.

are you selling this as a complete unit, i'm just looking for the shell with motorisation. no moniter

I think I would also just be interested in the lcd enclosure.
Have you had a chance to post the pics from HIN Chicago?
Will they be posted in this forum or on another site? Thanks.

Bump.

What the status of this? Any pics? Has anyone installed an aftermarket LCD panel in this place yet?

I called a mazda dealer in Florida, I comunicate with mazda parts department, the flip up parts is avaible, they search the parts catalog, and is avaible, I'm going to order the part soon, I think next monday.

The part number is B32H5531XE - The Price is $141.20 DAMN IT!!!!!, but what a hell, the GPS system is much expensive. The mazda dealer is:

MAZDA EAST
2075 NORTH SEMORAN BOULEVARD
ORLANDO , FLORIDA 32807
Phone: 407-681-2222

I talk with a owner of a High speed shop and the suspension for the 3 is going to be avaible in 3 or 4 weeks.

the brand is: H&R

GOOD LUCK FOR EVERYBODY.

Ok, I just called Mazda East in Orlando and the guy tells me that the part with the flip screen and push button is not part B32H5531XE for $150. It's something else. According to him he said that this piece is $2930 without the dvd rom unit. This is crazy ! Its a simple plastic piece with a 7" screen in it, how expensive can that be ? Anyways, I'll keep searching. Anyone find anything else on this ?

Thanks
