has anyone tried saying that the plastic component to the nav system is "broken" and you would like to order a replacement to fix the broken plastic piece =))??
wongpres said:Fat Mike - do you know exactly what is included by the 'entire assembly'. At $2,900cdn, does that include the entire NAV screen and NAV player? That'd be interesting because a non-NAV Mazda3 cannot be retrofitted with the Mazda3 NAV system (way too much time, effort, and cost).

Mazda 3 dash. What kind of lcd panel did you mount in it?
Is it a touchscreen? I sat in a Mazda 3 with the stock Nav unit
and I thought the lcd screen is set a little to far back to reach
for a touch screen. I could reach it but it was a stretch. The closer
the screen is to the driver the more pratical it would be.
illycut said:Well it is to far set back for touch screen, we will be using a gyroscope mouse (works in the air) for pc operations, otherwise possibly configure voice control. The screen is brand new, should be on the market come SEMA this year, its power acoustik. Sounds funny cause some of their products are second rate, but i promise you its the best monitor on the market. People literally stared into the car watching the screen for 10 minutes at a time. There is no fade on this screen from any angle. All in all the module will cost around $500 (hopefully less) and will be motorized fold up. i plan to post pics from HIN chicago, of the prototype we had in the car.
