Enough of this Xbox 360 and PS3 stuff! Where are the PC gamers on the forum and what are you playing now?

I've just finished the Shadow Broker Mass Effect 2 DLC and I'm playing an older ATV racing game PURE. Any suggestions for good PC games? What games are you all looking forward to?

I'm in for some PC games!

This month, I'm making my way through Dirt2. I like the spot it occupies on the "Arcade Racer to Full Simulator Continuum," if you know what I mean. Grid, from the same publishers, is on-road racing with a similar level of realism and fun. Good games.

When I have more time in my life, I play Unreal Tournament 3 online with a friend of mine. Good fun FPS, with vehicles and varied gameplay options.

I actually still dig out some classics, too: Sometimes, that same friend and I get in the mood for Diablo 2, and even though it's about 10 years old now, it still delivers the fun and Diablo 3 isn't out yet!
Total Annihilation is still my favorite RTS game, though it's nearly as old as D2.

I picked up Command and Conquer Generals, and one of its expansion packs not too long ago. Decent game.

Mostly, I stick to racing games, and I prefer full simulators, or just shy of that, but I do still enjoy some of the Need For Speed games, just for pure, silly hoonery! I have a Logitech Momo Force racing wheel and pedals, and that is just the way to place racing games!

I'm looking forward to Diablo3 and to Dirt3, but I will, as usual, not buy them until they've been out for 6-8 months and the price has dropped from $60 to $20! What can I say? I'm too cheap to drop that kind of cash on a game that might suck!

Right there with you on the games for $20 thing. The last game I paid full price for was Mass Effect 2 and thats cuz my wife surprised me and got it for me for valentines day. I think my best deal ever was getting the Orange Box (Half Life 2 and Episodes 1 & 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal) all for $20 a couple of black friday's ago. I love the PC racing games too. Can't wait till NFS: Hot Pursuit gets cheap. I'll snap it up.

I see you like the oldies like Diablo 2 as well. I'm actually playing through fallout 2 again right now on my laptop. Have you ever tried good old games (www.gog.com)? They have a fantastic selection of older games all patched and updated to run on XP, VISTA and Windows 7. All DRM free, no client running in the background and most of their stuff is 5 to 10 bucks. You just download, install and launch! It's fantastic.

I'll have to try dirt 2 if I can find it for cheap although I think I'm taking a break from off road stuff since I just finished pure. I really love PC gaming, if you have a solid machine, the graphics blow away the consoles and the games get cheaper faster so it's ideal for me. Plus something about sitting so close to the screen just sucks you in.

Have you tried Torchlight? It looks like a Diablo clone and is supposed to be pretty good.

Haven't played Torchlight. I'll have to take a look.

GOG is new to me. Sadly, they don't have a patched and working version of my favorite old racing game, Sportscar GT. It's fantastic, but being 10+ years old, it wont' run right on my computer.

I got dirt off of Steam as part of the Codemaster's racing pack, along with Dirt 1, Grid, Toca Pro Race Driver 3, and something called Fuel that I haven't even played yet! The whole pack was $20-30 back in April. Totally worth it!

Pretty much my PC gaming world has narrowed to playing mostly valve titles. Team Fortress 2 remains a favorite, and they've done a great job adding reasons to come back and play it more in 2007 with constant free game-expanding downloadable content and updates. Besides, everyone knows the only REAL way to play a FPS is with the keyboard and mouse. Handheld controllers are for 8-year olds and people who aren't playing FPSes. :)

Chromal, I agree on FPS with keyboard! I just can't aim/shoot/move/strafe simultaneously with a game controller!

The last two nights I've been playing Unreal Tournament 3. What an awesome game! :D

Yeah, playing an FPS on console is one of the most unnatural things I've ever done. GOG is having a killer sale. Up to 50% off on all their titles plus a free old school shoot em up (Tyrian 2000 I believe it's called) for all their subscribers.

I'm so stoked about the Mass Effect 3 announcement. I love that series. I played TF2 for a long time and enjoyed it but have not played in forever. Valve does make epic games though. Portal was terrific and I'm STILL WAITING for HL2 Episode 3.

I'm just really not sure what to play next for my PC though. I'm loading up my laptop with old classics for the train ride to RI for Christmas, but the Big Rig at home needs something I can sink my teeth into.

I'm buying a Phenom 2 Quad Core 3 Ghz cpu for $90 from newegg in a week or so and I need something to put that bad boy through it's paces.

Any suggestions? I play pretty much anything and I'm considering black ops, but I wonder if I should go with a non FPS title. Maybe Arkham Asylum? I've heard good things. Or Assassins Creed 2? I can get the first AC for $9. IS it worth a play through?

I picked up Quake Wars: Enemy Territory a couple weeks ago for <$20. Not bad. It's a somewhat different take on the whole team combat FPS thing.

Also, I finished Dirt2 a while back and decided to try the first Dirt. VERY different games! Dirt2 is more X-games type, Rally-X, stadium truck kind of stuff where Dirt(1) has much more point-to-point "real" rally racing. Both are lots of fun, mind you, but the older game is more simulator, less arcade, and I think I actually enjoy the racing better. Plus, you get to drive the Dakar-type rally raid BIG TRUCKS, and you get to do parts of the Pikes Peak Hill climb in a racing semi! Cool stuff.

So, you get to race these:

These:
tga_rally_raid_technical_truck_9345.webp
and these:
mark_miller-touareg.webp
...and regular rally cars, modern and vintage!

Cool game. Highly recommended!

FPS for me,

CS:S, black ops, team fort2 blah blahb blah..

FO3 and Obivl too

but all about gt5 at the mo, poor old pc been left in the dust so to speak...

Currently playing Skyrim when I should be working on papers for my masters degree. This game is destroying my educational future!!!! I'm usually not into MMO's but Guild Wars 2 looks cool. I spent about 60 bucks on the STEAM Sale and got Batman: Arkham Asylum, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assasins Creed Brotherhood and Renegade Ops.

My Steam username is sentient_d. Feel free to add me.

Best game I've bought in a LONG TIME: Far Cry 3. Absolutely loving it. Played through 3 times, once on the top difficulty level.

Fired up the Co-op game the other night, had a great time with that, too.
If you like shooters that require some strategy and stealth, this game rocks.

I might as well chime in on this. I'm pretty much solely a PC gamer. Last console I owned was an original xBox, which I bought secondhand, AFTER the 360 came out. Before that, my last console was a SNES.

I built my computer for gaming though. AMD Phenom II x3 2.8GHz (OC'ed to 3.6), 4gb DDR3, Radeon HD 7850, all wrapped up in a CM Storm Scout II case. It's heavy as hell but it has a handle built into it so I can haul it over to a friend's house and wire into his bigass HDTV for all-day gaming.

I've been playing a crap ton of Star Wars: The Old Republic the last few months. It's my first MMO. Before I started playing that I was playing a lot of the new X-Com - I grew up with the original. And before that I was bouncing around between Borderlands 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim.

If anyone plays SWTOR, I'm on Harbinger. Got a few characters but my main one is "Speelydan"

I have been mainly playing PC games for the past 5-7years, I have played Need For Speed Underground, Most Wanted, Pro Stree, Halo 1 both campaing and still play the multi-player online..
