Hey guys noticed the passenger side motor mount is completely screwd yesterday not sure how long its been like that. Just wondering about how long itl take to replace and if its the cause of some major rocking and jerking when I let off the gas and shifting. Or if I have another one that's torn

Also I plan on replacing the timing belt soon 140k needs to be done can I get away with replacing just the belt or do I have to do the tensioner and everything else? I'm in no way a fan of half assing anything especially something this important I just simply don't have the money for a 300+ kit right now I can always go back and do the tensioner and stuff when I have the money

Thanks in advance

passenger side motor mount CAN be a pain to remove and replace, but its pretty straight forward.

as for the timing belt job... since the amount of stuff to remove for the job is so much, most people will replace everything at the same time - both accessory belts, water pump, tensioner and idel pulleys, cam seals, cam cover seal, etc. its just easier to do it all at once, than to do the job twice.

I was hoping it'd be easy so I could do it at my apt. But owell. As for the timing belt the serpentine belts are 2 weeks old but water pump will be replaced too. Id rather do the same job twice than get a new motor though while saving for the kit

The motor mount is pretty easy to do if you have the tools. Took me about 45mins to install the MM mount.

I was looking at it today and it looks simple 4 bolts I think. Just seems like everything on this car is way more complicated than it needs to be especially the rear brakes. I just want to try to get everything fixed before winter which I have a long list of stuff

Pretty much just the bolts. Also you may need to get a board and a jack to put under the oil pan, be careful you could dent the pan, to push the engine up a little bit for it to line up easier. You just need to be patient and when you retighten the bolt connecting the piece from the actual engine and the one that is connected to the body, make sure that you tighten the bolt gradually and everything will line up perfectly.

To me it looks like a bar not a bolt. Looks like one piece with the bar is connected to the motor and goes int the rubber part of the mount or am I wrong? I was gona pull both out attacth them and set them back in and tightn it

that "bar" that goes into the mount is not removeable. there are two nuts on the engine side to be removed, two bolts on the fender side, and a single bolt on the strut tower that needs to be removed. R&R on the mount is a pretty simple task.

ok that explains it. i was thinking it was like a 2 piece set up but i was wrong. ive got a breaker bar jack handle and an impact and 2 pairs of hands im prepared for it now just waiting to get paid so i can get the mount. btw is it possible for the bar or whatever it is to bend?

I got the aftermarket one and did have a bolt through the middle. The stock does not and it will probably fit better and you shouldn't have to mess with it too much.
