park brake switch wiring

for those of you that have installed aftermarket DVD head unit

I'm wondering what the easiest way is to connect my new head unit to the park brake switch wiring. It needs input from the brake switch and park brake switch circuitry in order to exit black-out mode.

Bought an Alpine iXA-W404 on clearance last month from a big box store and (regretably) had them install it due to warranty concerns. If it s**** the bed, they're on the hook because I had it "professionally" installed.
I bought all the add-ons except for the nav from another source and had them put them in at the same time. (add-on amp, bluetooth, sirius). To get into the setup to pair my phone (or even set the time) the deck needs input from said circuits. I guess the installer didn't deem it necessary to hook them up because it isn't a dvd player. I took it back once due to a blown in-line fuse that should've been increased because of the add-on amp (KTP-445). The second time I went back, after I figured out the bluetooth issue, I just got my install money refunded from the manager.

So now I'm looking for a wiring diagram or a tip on the easiest place to splice into the park brake switch circuit. Seems silly, but I really want my hands-free phone..

anybody know a sneaky place, or at least the wire color? Failing this I guess I gotta start removing centre console... lazy old me.

Infinity Reference coaxial 6"x8" / Rockford Fosgate tweets up front
Infinity Kappa 2-way 6"x8" rear
45W x 4 RMS .. loud enough
cleanest 6 speaker system I've ever heard
adding 300W RMS 8" Infinity sub to rear cubby hole, cargo space is at a premium

ground the parking brake wire and it stays on all the time so no need to mess with finding a parking brake wire

yeah, no. the alpine head unit has a specific "procedure" to get out of its black-out mode - brake on, park brake on off on, release brake, release park brake. Stupidest thing ever. You could trick it by installing a ground switch, but.. I ended up ripping the console out to get at the ground side of the park brake switch. All that just to set the time and pair my phone for bluetooth (no disc player - usb/ipod only and I don't plan on watching movies on a 4" screen)
