So I am getting new tires soon and I am thinking about getting my stock wheels powder coated satin black while they are off my car. The question I have is has anybody had wheels powder coated, and if so did they have tire pressure monitors? My tpms are silver to match the stock wheel color, would it be a problem to get the stem and nut of the tpms also powder coated? If not has anyone seen black wheels with silver tpms, how would they look on a galaxy grey car?

You are not going to notice that little bit of silver sticking out. If it does bother you paint it. I would NOT powder coat that stem. You need to remove all of that before you give it to the powder coater anyway.

yea, they wont let you leave that stem in while they coat it. The rim gets baked after coating. Also, to get the factory coating off they will blast it or chemical treat it so the rim has to be completely stripped down. Just paint the stems black while you wait for the rims to get done.

Ok, I forgot about the fact that they have to bake them. I knew about having to remove them and having the wheels stripped. I just wasn't sure if the tpms could be painted, or if it would look stupid with silver tpms on black wheels.

Be care full when you go to paint them tho, the sensors themselves are actually highly senstive to any kind of coating, you would not believe how many sensors i replace because customers run fix-a-flat in the rental cars and it buggers up the sensors so bad they short out. (i'm a tech and enterprise/national/alamo rent-a-car)
