that looks great i love darker wheels.

i think you should leave the tires dull. i think darker wheels with dull tires look awesome. even stealthier.

looks great thats the same color Im looking for. What paint did you use? How longs does paint on the wheels last?

I used the dupicolor wheel paint, graphite gray color.....
I did 3 coats of paint, and 3 coats of clear.....
I'm not sure how long it will last, I've never painted any wheels before

it should last like close to a year prob longer (i traded the car before they ever started chipping) if you keep the wheels clean, i've used this paint on a number of rims works great as long as you keep it pretty clean especially through winter with the salt and all...wheels look great!

Looks really good! I also think the caliper color looks out of place...but if you like it, and are going for a yellow theme, then by all means keep it. I just love the way red calipers look on black cars.

yeah, the yellow looks better on silver wheels. I didn't like they way it looked at first, but It grew on me, I would like to do some yellow in the interior, maybe some dash pieces, and some seat covers with yellow inserts. I'm looking at some wet okole cover they look cool and are not terribly expensive compared to leather....

here is a pic of those seat covers in a protege....I would get them with a yellow insert to tie the yellow theme in...

looks like their website says about $225 for front seats and $250 for rear seats

how did u do the wheel paint... what kinda clear coat did u do... did you like tape off the wheel itself? any special things you did? were there any trouble spots? did u sand at all? just like a how-to or something would be bomb... i would LOVE the help this looks bomb!! very nice idea and job

those rims look hella nice!!!!!!!!
ok...heres what i think about the calipers.......
i like how they stand out...........
but..............
you should make thme orange and trade your clear sidemarkers for orange ones. that way it will all match your running lights. that would look so friggin sweet!

Generic how to of how i did mine (his may be differen't lol)
Things needed: S.O.S pads, dawn (or whatever you have) dish soap,
600 and 800 grit sandpaper, self etching primer(make sure its self-etching it fills in the sanding marks) dupli-color wheel paint, dupli-color clear coat,
towels/rags or masking tape
Note: you HAVE to use the same brand wheel paint and clear coat they aren't compatible with other paints and will basically eat eachother up
if you F* up your wheels i'm not liable lol (poke)

1. take wheel off car

2. take an S.O.S pad along with a bucket of hot soapy water(use dish soap as it's designed to take off grease waz etc...)

3. after you've cleaned the wheel of all waxes dry it off.

4. now sand the wheel throughly with 600 grit until it's dull and doesn't shine anymore. then sand with the 800 to make it smooth

5. after you've gotten it sanded down, now you can decide how you want to
mask it,
masking it with tape is a pain, and its pretty obvious how to do it that way, but what i did was mixed some soap and water then i took a sponge put dish soap on that also and rubbed that onto the tire, so that the tire had the soap all over it then i used the sponge again to lightly add some of the soapy water to the tire(this makes it so that if you by accident get over spray on the tire it won't adhere) next take the towels and soak them with water now lay the tire on the ground make sure to put a piece of board or somthing under it otherwise you'll get paint on the ground,
next take the towels and kind of wrap them around the tire i know this seems wierd without pics but your basically laying the towel over the tireand fitting it around the rim you'll need about 6 or so towels to do this right.

6. make sure everything is masked then your ready to spray your primer on spray a few light coats to get it covered also during this time if you see any areas where its not accepting paint this is because you missed some wax in that spot once the primer dries sand that area again and try primering if it takes the paint then your all set if not you have to do it again,
after you get that taken care off lay down a thicker coat of primer to top it off let dry,

7. now you ready for paint follow steps similar to primer lay a few light coats once everything is covered lay down a heavier coat to add gloss let it sit for about an hour then use the clear coat lay down afew medium coats and then a heavy coat then let them sit to dry after they have dried throw em back on you car and take pics!
