P5 vs. 1997 grand prix

i was driving up route 309 in quakertown, p.a. on my way to wiliamsport and all of the sudden it seemed, a white 1997 pontiac grand prix was on my ass, i down shifted to third and took off. the thing that sucked was he was right there but eventually i started pulling away. those things are faster then i thought of the guy had something done. it might have even been a debadged gtp (didnt see any gtp badges) none the less it was fun.

I saw 2 97-02 Grand Prix coupes at the strip and they were very quick. I don't remember what they were running for times.

It was likely a totaly stock 3800 V6.

Dude thats a supercharged 3.8 liter V6 which makes it 250 hp and a s*** load of torque. My mother had a boniville with the same eninge more weight. Unless you have nitrous or a turbo he would have been long gone. From off the line its fast enough in higher gears its just insane. That cars pulls form 60-120 like nothng else I have driven in.

Also my buddy Ken had the same friggen car, 1998 boniville SSEI. I saw him run a 15.5 1/4 with it and he had an air filter. Keep in mind the GTP is less weight.

I drove that car from NH to SC and had it over 125 fairly often.

That car is a 7 second flat 0-60 if not less and a 15 second or less 1/4 mile. THe protege 5 is in the 9 second 1/4 mile range and a 17 second 1/4 mile.

Again you had a stock 3800 V6 there, no way it was boosted or he let off the gas.

"yeah those GTP's Stock from the yr 97-98 are pretty damm fast. One of my friend's that own's one has K&N FIPK, pulley's, twin exhaust, Chip, AF meter or something and can Run against new Camaro Z28's all day long, or even some of the Import's, like a 00SI with a B20 fully built bottom end, CRX with B16A I/H/E 50+shot, 240Sx SR20DET.

A (00Si), "i'm sure you would pull on one even if it had I/E but a GTP man that's like pulling on a camaro Z28 or a WRX for instance. I'm pretty sure your car is alot quicker than stock, but a GTP run's anywhere from 14.8-15.1 (STOCK) in the 1/4mile. I understand you guy's were on Freeway speed's but, damm dude the GTP has 240Hp with a Supercharged engine. i have seen what they can do up top.

Dude i am Not trying to get a "PISS-OFF" contest with you. Who made this Topic, and what was it about. If you are gonna keep posting about what car you raced or beat, depending on who is gonna look on your topic about what it's about, then be ready for reply's like this or just stop, posting your nonsense humor. i am estimating a mid to high 14 in the quarter mile, and no i am not saying that i am faster then a gtp. sometimes i just start rambling when i talk or type in this case about a race

i smoked an older (maybe '95) that had the 3100. Those motors make more noise than anything else. The 3800 is more of a challenge to beat.
