Go get lost dood, there is no way you can beat a TT even with your mods, TT's have less HP loss in the power train, MUCH lower center of gravity and All Wheel Drive, you are smoke on any curve. If you ever raced and beat a TT the other driver is just the worst in the world. You cant beat the average TT driver, I dont care if you have mods.
 
i was told that the matrix has a cardboard dashboard...plus the p5 looks sleeker...
 
LOL...you guys crack me up! and Audi TT is not powerful at all! yea..it has AWD but um look how much the damn thing weighs! its about 3,500lbs!! or more! and it doesnt have that much power..i think its about 250hp or less with like 220TQ...my friend has the new 3.5Liter Nissan Altima which has 250HP and 249TQ and i eat the car up every time! these damn cars weigh too much to move out! and 250HP isnt alot of power when you weigh a ton..and when i raced these TT's (2) it was from a roll..1 going about 30 or 40 and the other was on the highway starting about 55..lol you can sleep on the matrix's body but not the engine..please dont!.. Im not the fastest in the world but im not walk over! and you guys keep talkin about reving the car high and how u dont like it..but when u look at all the sport cars out there, the rpm band usually goes to 9 or 10,000rpms if im not mistaken?? i never new with a N/A 4cylinder you can get some good power down low when you only have under 250HP...just look at the Honda S2000..there is no power down low under 6,000rpms..but after 6,000rpms the cars another beast!..and thats a pretty quick car N/A that has no good torque! just a high HP and Reving engine!...just like Matrix XRS, Celica GT-S, Acura RSX-S, Honda Prelude, and the new Lotus Elise witch uses the same engine that i have in my XRS but it has 10 HP and like 3 more Torque and the car does 0-60mph in like 4.5seconds! but it weighs under 2,000lbs..just like i said..weight means alot unless your putting down crazy HP and TQ! And my cars redline is 9,000rpms but fuel cutoff is at 8,300rpms "protegeV" i have a rev limiter fool! so i dont know where u got that 8,200 from! the engine in my car is very sensitive to mods..its beautiful! i'd take someone for a ride and change ur whole aspect on how u see the damn car! Trust me! or just pull up next to me and try me one day.. (wrc)

OMG!.. who ever wrote that article for Car&Driver doesnt even know too much about the damn cars!..A base Vibe doesnt come with Navigation..only the GT model witch has 180HP but Car&Driver were saying that the car could've used the same power as the XRS...like Vibe doesnt have the GT model??..I guess Car&Driver forgot about that model??..lol But the article did said the XRS beat all the cars in everything from speed and stoping etc...they just dont like the how the power comes on late..i have something for you guys to show u how the XRS can deliver speed fast just look at this damn video and pray that u dont pull up to an XRS or GT-S and want to race unless u have turbo..click on the link and download the video and see how a modded XRS can leave out!<br><a href="http://f.urbanfunktion.com/MOV00467.MPG"><img src="http://www.matrixowners.com/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/13244/normal_DSC00005.JPG"><br>Right Click Save As for Matrix Race</a href>

Just because your tach goes up to 9000rpm, doesnt mean that's what your redline is...unless you have modified it.
I know because i actually DROVE an XRS about a month ago. It was mostly stock but lowered, and a catback exhaust. It redlined around 8200-8300 when the thing started bouncing off the revlimiter...I dont know of a way to get it to 9000rpm after that(uhm)

It is decently fast, but while i was in it, I raced a friend with an MSP and he beat me by about two car lengths up to 90mph.

Listen dude!...lol thats not redline! its called "Fuel Cutoff" toyota made it to do that because of bent valves at redline..safety feature because they kept having to replace engines in the early model GT-S's..so they made a Rev limiter! But i can get a fuel management system to raise the limiter like of what the PFC does for the GT-S raiseing the limiter from 8,300 to 8,600..going high enough to not break anything!..download the video chump!..lol

we're not talking about mods. we're talking about a STOCK XRS, which has a redline(the point where the engine will NOT rev any higher) of 8,300rpm.

I downloaded the vid...Not very impressive considering the car doing the video didnt seem to be racing him, I dont know what kind of car it was, and cant tell how fast he's going, or what mods he has.
 
some of you guys are drawn!..how can u hate on a car thats faster and more reliable in name than you are?? Just because of the looks, when its not that far from what your cars look like...and forget Car&Driver because the XRS shouldnt have been compared with those underpowered and handled cars! Maybe with the Focus SVT and PT Cruiser..just cars in the 130HP range should be compared to the 130HP range..just download the video i posted earlier to see what the XRS can do..BYE
 
Dude, I told you...That video doesnt say ANYTHING about what it can do.

The only thing I can tell from that vid is that the dude chirped third...Didnt look like the camera car was racing, and if It was I dont know what it was, so i can compare.

Dont know what mods the XRS had, or how fast it was going...

My brother lives in Maryland and im there about 4 times a month...we could meet up and i could put a woopin on your car and that MSP (whateva that is!) Or are u scared that ur precious P5 isnt fast enough? And i'll show u what the car can do!!
 
I think you should be comparing an XR and not an XRS to the P5. Totally different price range.

My buddy just bought an XR.....I have to admit its got a lot more space, but it's like driving a van. They got the steering wheel position all wrong..waaaay too far. Since when is driving a van sporty?

Then i took it on an offramp curve and there was just no comparison to the P5. It didn't have that controlled feel, and the driver is extremely disconnected from the road. The P5 will outhandle it anyday.

As for power, they are pretty much equivalent.
 
the matrix is pretty much a soccer mom sport bus. if you dont believe me, just look around who drives them hehehe

the inside looks like s*** and the manual shifter is on dashboard..wtf? you have to reach out with your whole arm to grab that thing! whoever thought of that should be shot!
also, ive read somewhere that the xrs has no torque at all below 9k rpm..it's just plain slow below that.
face it dude, the mp5 is the better car in every way...it's just so cool!(drive)

if i was you i would go right now and buy one!
 
Well, I will try to give a fair evaluation as I owned a Vibe GT prior to my Mazdaspeed. When I first purchased the Vibe, I actually test drove a P5, Corolla, Lancer, Spec V, and other small cars. The Spec V and Vibe had the best engines at the time as the others felt slow. The Vibe even before lift was putting the same hp out as most of the other cars with exception of the Spec V. In the end, it really came down to the P5 and Vibe GT. The P5 felt really cramped in the back seat and the handling and engine wasn't as good as the Vibe. On the otherhand I liked the looks of the P5 and the quality.

After 1 1/2 years of ownership, the dash on the Vibe had a lot of rattles and squeaks. This was a common problem and GM was investing a lot of money to train their techinicians on how to fix it. They never got it right. The 6spd was also very notchy and difficult to use. I remember taking the Mazdaspeed for a test drive and thinking that it was the best shifter in the world.

I would probably not buy the Vibe GT again or even the P5 as either car is not a fit for me. I will say however that the Vibe out of the box performs better, but the engine has a 11.5:1 compression which makes a turbo or supercharger near impossible and both need an LSD.

To clear up some confusion, the Vibe/Matrix is sold in other countries like Japan and is called the Voltzs. The XRS/GT do not come with AWD as that is reserved for the smaller/auto setup.

i never said my P5 was fast, in fact I try to tell everyone its slow as s*** ;)

Oh...the MSP is the MazdaSpeed Protege??..lol i beat one of those already!..it has a turbo right?? (scratch) that thing is stupid slow! but everybody doesnt know how to drive their cars!..he tried me though, it looked nice too.. it was a bright blue color with a spoiler..I have alot done to my car so im no where near stock form but its all about the launch!
