hey everyone, i was told that if i put in a m-24 garrett turbo with 5 lbs. of boost it will give me an additional 60 horses and there is no need for fuel system modifications as long as it is under 6 lbs. does anbody know if this is true?

Give or take a few horses. I'm running 8 psi with no problem.

Turbo Kit

What all comes in the kit?? Also where did the oil line tap in?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

The kits comes with everything that is needed for the install. All hard parts include the turbo w/ wastegate, manifold, downpipe, intercooler w/ all piping, fuel pressure regulator, boost guage and all the relocation brackets for other items. All the fittings for oil and water. It is very complete. I know I missed something:confused: The oil feed is tapped at the oil pressure sensor which is located beneath the intake manifold and between cylinders two and three. Oil return is tapped at the front of the oil pan. The water feed is tapped through the termostat housing on both sides of the motor.

ease of installation....?

To be honest I did not install my system. My car was the prototype so BEGI did the entire install. But, I have done everything from rebuilds to bolt ons and would consider this kit moderate to advanced. If you have a really good understanding of auto concepts you will be ok. The instructions are very detailed and complete with Corky only a phone call away for questions.

Late info

I'm not Turbo like these guys...yet, but to directly answer a couple of your questions:

I have heard from several places including a Mazda representitive that the fuel system in our car is quite adequate so is good, like you said, until 6 lbs. of boost. Also, simply adding a fuel pressure regulator seems to take care of things up to about 8lbs. of boost, a little more if pushed. After that, a more serious fuel pump and injectors will be needed. But umm...at that point, some other things should be replaced too ;)

Hey Wshade I was looking at the intercooler that Bell provides for your turbo setup, isn't it kind of small for the turbo your using on your setup? Do u think with the current setup you have room for a bigger IC? Thanks

No blow-off valve?

BOV is included. The intercooler is located there to prevent cutting. When I get the time I will place one in the lower grill area. The overall volume will not be much bigger, that is just where I eventually want it. Although you cant see it in the pictures the current intercooler is fairly thick.
