HaHa yeah I was rootin for them too. I was trying to score me a jersey but it was crazy down there. Frankfurt is off the hook. Way too much trouble to get into.

The cost is 16euros for one lap. But the more laps you buy the cheaper it is. As far as the process goes you just walk up to the machine(in pic) put your money in and off you go. No car inspection, no form to fill out just stick the ticket in the toll gate and off you go. Some people think its a little expensive but the unless your a professional race car driver you wont do a lap under 10min. No matter how many GT4/Forza hours you've logged. It took me 3 trys to to get my Evo under 10min. It gets very scary on the track. Plus you have to look out for other drivers. I was doing 120 in my Evo and got passed by a race preped Viper like I was standing still.

trust me plenty of people do it. Last year my buddy rented a superchared SLK and we beat the hell out that thing.

Depending on traffic I can easily run high/low 9s in my Evo, and thats theres still a lot I could work on. If I knew the track a lot better I'm pretty sure I could get the P5 around it in 1100-1200, but thats pushing my skill.

Amazing! At 20 dollars USD, that is a bargain in my opinion. idk maybe it's not such a big deal if you live near by, but to those of us that have played it, watched it, dreamed about it... it's like the friggin holy grail. Time for a trip

you can also buy a 25lap pass for about 380bucks. Its good all year. So just show up put in your special ticket, do a couple laps and head home.

I'm jealous as hell too. sounds like it was an absolute blast to do. Do they have people watching over the drivers/track (ie if there is a crash or if someone is becoming reckless).

America just does its own thing. Much like soccer is the most popular sport in the world, but go up to Joe Blow on the street this past Sunday and ask him what the world cup is, and he'll look at ya funny. It's annoying how formula 1 racing is by far the most popular racing world wide, but America is hooked on this boring ass Nascar s***... Ya it's my opinion, and ya I really don't have a lot against Nascar. I actually went to the Pepsi 400 couple weekends ago and had a great time. But come on... F1 > Nascar for sure. Guess what I'm getting at is we'll never see a track like Nurburgring here in America because there just isn't enough intrest I guess.

I hear you all the way. I used to watch NASCAR when the Intimidator ran (Dale Sr. for those who don't know) but after he died, I turned to mainly F1, Grand-Am, and ALMS. My favorite races that I look foward to every year are the 24 Hrs at Daytona, every F1 race, 12 Hrs of Sebring, 24 Hrs, LeMans, and the 24 Hrs at Spa-Francorchamps and Nurburgring (which are hardly ever televised). Other then that, I watch baseball or football.

Its all good man. They do have people watching but its just like at any track. If someone crashes its usually a local yellow. You drive by and take off after it. If you crash you have to pay for towing of your car and damages to the track. On top of repairing of your car.

TStar. Your not "alowed" to video tape your run but a lot of people still do. So as I can find a way to rig my cam up I will do the same.

Spa is a little harder to get into but they do have track days too. I'm trying to get down there and Hockinhiem too.

I've seen videos of people run around the track with traffic, and you definately have to keep your eyes open. You have everything from your run of the mill 50HP European lunch box to full fledged race cars. It is as simple as paying, popping your ticket in the booth, gate goes up, and your off! How many laps have you run the Evo around there? How much of the track would you say your are comfortable with, as in knowing the corners like the back of your hand? I can't remember, but isn't it about 73 corners on that track? The best part, not two of those corners are similar, they all have different entries, exits, apexes, elevations, all kinds of stuff!! It is what racing is all about!

But......NASCAR is moving up in the world. I hear they are using unleaded gasoline now. Maybe someday they will use fuel injection too. Now all we have to do is get them to use cars that actually look like and have something in common mechanically with the street car that they are based on......but then the manufacturers might have to actually build rwd V8 coupes (or even turbo fours or sixes for that matter)......what a thought.

Kinda back on topic: It is too bad we don't have tracks like that in America. If we do, I don't know of it or have access to it. If we did and it was fairly priced, street racing would probably be less of an issue.

Back on topic: I'm still so jealous. Even though my car would get run over on the ring.

I've only done 6 laps in my Evo and one of them on the actual F1 portion. To be honest I really don't know how comfortable I am with the track. If it wasnt 2hrs away I would do a lot more laps. Plus the wife only lets me go so often. But the biggest thing is that place is brutal on cars. If you don't prep your car before you go you will feel it later. Not to mention all the roads there are like the ones in the pic. Plus its one thing to know the corners on GT4/Forza, but its a whole different ballgame where your there you hear your tires squealing, elavation changes, and the wall is so close. Theres really no margin for error there. I get butterflies everytime I pull up to the gate.
