P2189, P2179 codes engine idle is up/down

I have done a lot of reading on the code p2189 & p2179

Have '05 Mazda 6i 3.0L with 110K and first time cel has been on...

I did read to check the TB air tube and did find a good size split in there...but no telling how long it has been there. For now I wrapped and tapped it up good since I cannot get the part right now. CEL is still on but what has show up is this crazy idle.

I can be driving at 45 and the rpm idle will jump up/down at a set speed...I can also feel the car bumping while driving in the idling. When at a stop and then left off the brake at overdrive...the car will cruse along and then rpm will bump up and the car overdrive speed will pickup then it will come back down to normal.

So what is my next step...mass air flow system but then I have seen something posted about Purge Solenoid valve but this was not in the code. Then the said state I cannot locate neither...??

Any advice fam?

Did you clean your MAF? Check to see if there's any obstructions in the air way. Also... do you have the stock airbox, CAI, or SRI?
I just recently got the P2179 this past weekend. I cleaned my MAF/filter on my MS/AEM CAI, but I still get the P2179. And If it is a mis-fire, it sure as hell doesn't act like it.

That did it....cleaning the MAAF really good and getting the right MAF cleaner....
