P2188

I have been throwing this code often. And I am sure you all remember what I have...CPE CAI, TBE with High Flow. I think its a boost leak, as I threw a P0300 code the other day. I haven't thrown that code since I had the standback installed, so I really think its a vac leak somewhere. I just bought the forge b/c I have a feeling I ****** up the stock bpv when I boosted the car to 18 psi and thats why it is defective. Forge came in today so I will be trying it out later tonight. Also, if that doesn't fix the situation, then next is to check my inlet pipe. If anyone would be so kind as to tell me how I could get to the inlet pipe and frankly where the hell its located.

A couple of thoughts:

1) I believe that the CP-E CAI is the best intake money can buy. It is a CAI (yes, intake temps do make a difference, the ECU does not ignore the IAT sensor) and the machined MAF housing is a thing of beauty.

2) Don't look at A/F ratios because the fuel system is usually running closed loop. Check the LTFT's instead. For example, if the intake had a leak after the MAF sensor, the ECU will try to compensate by adjusting the fuel trims. In this case, the A/F ratio may look normal but the LTFT's are going to be way off. At idle, the LTFT with a CP-E CAI is usually less than zero (i.e. a negative number). If the LTFT (at idle) is ever greater than +/- 10%, something is wrong.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. now it shows 7.0. It seems like it takes 60 seconds to update. I got it to go -1.5 again but it went back to 7.0

Is the engine fully warmed up?

Note that you will see 4 different LTFT readings depending on the engine load:

1) Idle
2) "Off-idle" (minimal load) You can see it by pressing the accel pedal slightly when you are in neutral (or clutch pedal down).
3) Medium load (for example, cruising on the freeway)
4) High load / WOT

it is with it fully warmed. It also seems like it takes forever for it to refresh the data. On a side note, I haven't gotten another CEL and for what it's worth, my A/F is hovering where it's supposed to be.

I also went back and made sure all of my connections were good and checked for possible leaks. It's all tight.
