Can't remember where I posted about this last, so I'm starting a new thread for you folks.

Picked up my car from the dealership after work today. They replaced the solenoid in the intake manifold with a new part that is stronger than the old one. Weak solenoid that came with the car is the reason for the P2006 CEL. BTW, this has been covered in another thread in detail, but I'm trying to paraphrase. Please add details I missed. I spoke to the tech that worked on my car and he'd mentioned a misfire. When he said that, I assumed that was the reason for the stutter/buck on throttle lift-off at ~3k rpms.

I tried to pick the tech's brain with regard to the software update, but got nowhere, because he honestly didn't know what it did. After further discussion, the only thing I could think of was something akin to a BIOS update for a motherboard...which could well be exactly what it was. (dunno)

So, on to how the car drives. Power delivery is MUCH smoother. It's so much smoother that it almost feels like the car is slower. Gone is the turbo lag that I was used to feeling before 3k rpms. The engine now just pulls smoothly as revs increase.

I'd suggest you take your car in even if you've only had the CEL flash just once! Thank god my dealership has treated me well. I know some of you have had less than satisfactory experiences...I wish you all could come to my dealership.

Sorry if I'm (deadhorse for all those already in the know, but it's good to "refresh" the boards for all the new MS3 owners that have joined.
