i recently change my alternator voltage regulator as it was overcharging. Soon after, my check battery light on dashboard stays on. My mecahnic told me that the voltage regulator i used was not adapted to my alternator and it produced a voltage that damaged my ecu.
However, my car runs fine, voltage is in range, and alternator charges good.
My only problem is that the battery light stays on and diagnostic gave me a P1631 CODE..ie voltage signal blabla..
Please help, do i have to change my ecu?? or the problem is elsewhere??
