Ouch. What a Mazda 2 vs. a tree looks like.

Good thing for the driver that they drive on the right side in Thailand.

Glad the driver was seemingly okay. The 2 held up pretty well, even though it took a hell of a beating. I wonder just how fast the car was going when the tree got in it's way....

Considering the impact it took I think it held up well. Hitting a post like structure like that in the middle of the side of a car is about as bad as it can get. A minivan would tear in half like that.

back seat left side could have been seriously hurt or killed on that one...That looks like a 60+mph hit sideways right on the center post or slightly behind....the worst spot to be hit.

I'd have to agree that it held up pretty well considering the driver looks like she survived. 60 seems about right for the speed. Considering that some streets in Thailand don't really have a speed limit she could have been going even faster. It's not easy driving over there. Driving laws are lax. I know, i lived it.

I like how the one guy helping to get her on the cot had a cigarette in his mouth like a bad ass. She looked to be alright to me, she didn't scream or anything when they rolled her over.

I took out a community mailbox during a blizzard last December (damn babies and needing clean diapers)...was just a shade over $4K to repair the damage (without deploying airbags) and 1 totaled mailbox. First time I was ever thankful for the insurance premiums I shell out...
