opinions needed...Apex or Protosport DP?

I've got a Protosport DP and I have a couple of comments.

Good: The finish is nice, and where the pipe hooks up to the turbo is just fine. All the welds are of excellent quality.

Bad: When I received the pipe, there was oil and metal shavings on the inside of the pipe, along with some styrofoam peanuts. I had to run a rag through the pipe to clear it out. Also, the aft attachment point to the muffler pipe didn't quit line up right. I finally got it together, but it took some muscling. Lastly, the two hanger brackets didn't line up very well with the mounting points. On the driver side, it's almost up against the support bracket, and the passenger side is a bit off to one side. I was able to make it work, but would have like to seen things line up a bit better.

Other then that, I'm happy with my purchase.

Hmm a 3" thermal exhaust will help that out... I don't know how but it will  Maybe being "Fastar" Hmm Peanuts.. is due to the person "SHIPPING" so you can blame SpicyMSP. Metal Shavings was SpicyMSP again...

So far I have nothing but good things to say about my APEX DP. It is coated, and the guys at the performance shop where I had it installed raved about the quality of the pipe and said that fitment/installation was a non-issue, bolted right on perfectly. (probabely should have done it myself) And as far as performance, I am still having fun with it. Big diiference can be felt, especially at highway speeds, feels alot quicker, and torquier. Also, exhaust which is otherwise stock, (for now) sounds a little deeper. If I could do it all over again, I'd buy APEX again. One side note: the CEL eliminator or whatever its called that goes to the O2 sensor doesnt really work too well, no check engine light for the first two day, but then it went on on the third, reset the computer, no check engine light for another day, then right back on. The guy at the performance shop said he is pretty sure that its the CEL eliminator. He called it "flimsy", and said he would find another one or try to get one made for me. But anyway, I dont think Protosport makes on of those thing anyway. I think that is the only one available actually.

I think you have a faulty MIL eliminator.Mine was the first used on the MSP and it has worked flawlessly since installed in the early summer(8K + miles ago)It has never came on once.It may be installed improperly as well.

All in all ,I give APEX nothing but my best reviews. They only offer the coated pipe now and did offer a non-coated early on to help out with cost. The finish on the coated is BEAUTIFUL!
I love it.
Matt

Will there be a eta as to when the Protosports will be ready to ship? Seems like there is a lot of interest in their DP but no supply.

Also...I posted this in the other thread...and maybe I should address is to them personally, or Steph, but would they be willing to make a DP with a Random Tech. Hi-Flow cat on it?
