so i currently have a HKS ssqv bov on my 03.5 msp. i was thinking about trading my bov for a turboxs rfl bov, and i wanted to get your opinion on which bov you would get between the 2 if you had the choice.

Turboxs RFL Blow-off Valve
or
HKS Super Sequential Blow-off Valve

Thanks :)

edit: also both vented to atmosphere

^same here. my turboxs sounds great and gets alot of attention.

- the only gripe i have with it is the maintence, every once in a while i have to take it out and clean the piston or it gets stuck. only takes a few minutes but its well worth it.

I have the RFL on my car at only 6psi, and its Effin loud as Poo. Belive me its well worth it! AND ITS SHINNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D

i like the sound of the hks.... a "classic" sound

plus its self adjusting which makes it easy to install

ive heard the rfl once and was not to impressed by it

well the hks i have is adjustable. idk why but the sound of the turboxs is so NICE!!! lol

I've had bad experience in the past with TurboXS and just as a heads up they all will leak to a certain extent. I have the most recent version of the HKS SSQV (in black) on my P5 right now and I love it. The dual valves really give it a good sound. A nice low "whoosh" at lower RPM and boost levels and a quick, high-pitched "chirp" at higher RPM and full boost levels.

I just bought an HKS. I've heard nothing but good things about them from anyone I've talked to. My vote goes to HKS

well i got the turboxs and it sound like crap. its got a 1" inlet on the bov, and i got a 3/4" outlet nipple on the hotpipe. all i get is surge. i cant even here the bov. it sounds like the stock bpv.. any ideas??

are you venting to air? thats what i am and it works fine. make sure you have a dedicated vaccume hose too.

well i fixed it.. there was something in the way of the piston. ITS LOUD!! from inside the car i was like ehh its not that loud, then i had my cousin drive it and from the outside it was loud!! me likeee... :)

haha i dont even know!! lol i took the top off to see if any washer were in, and the whole bov like fell apart lol, then i put it pack and it work. i think it was a small plastic peice that fell on the ground idk ha

well glad you like it, hope it serves you well. you will have a ton of people trying you now, they do that to me all the time.

LOL, u still on a stock sidemount? cause a piece of the plastic might of broke off, or there was just a little peace in there somewhere and got stuck.

that happened with my mbc. some random piece of plastic got stuck in it and was causing weird boost levels.

ha nah it wasnt from the IC. it was hard to push the piston when i got it. i installed it then took it off to put a washer in and cleaned it. now it works fine :)
