One more problem to add to the list.

So I take my car in to the dealership to replace the split I/C pipe and they didn't order the right part, so that's a no go for now. However, I've noticed a clicking noise when turning hard left (like a u-turn), so I ask them about it.... Quess what?

My driverside front CV axle is dead.

12,500 miles and the CV axle is gone. WOOHOO!

I was talking to a dealer about a 6 last night and he asked me if I thought they did the right thing by NOT becoming a Mazdaspeed dealer.
I replied, "That was probably the single best decision your dealership could have made!"

after seeing the effort put towards making the protoge into an MSP, i'm pretty scared of buying one too.. doesn't look like much prep or thought was put into the forced induction, which could of course lead to problems like split plastic IC tubing, and premature failure of CV joints..

are the halfshafts and CV's any bigger than stock?

You need to print them my list of issues to back that statement up.. ;)
No need I have them all committed to memery.
Took me about 5 minutes to list all the ones I know of. And what was supposed to be so bad about the SRT again (scratch)

dude, t3ase i think your car was made on a friday afternoon by some drunk mazda engineers wanting to go home/to a bar.

T3ace, wanna trade? :D
I can get more for the trade in and you can get a working turbo protege (thumb)

Sure
I can easily get 14,000 on trade for your car.
They will only give me 10 for mine and it will have to be turned to stock (nuts)

Ofcoarse we have to account for how much you owe :D.
I am down to $12.5K

Muwhahaha... I've only had the car for three months... I owe a large amount. As much as I hate this car, I love this car...

Heheh that's funny. I find most people who hate 1.8T's thrashed the crap put of them and therefore they failed. They also tend to be people who ignore maintainance, never allow their turbos to cool etc. Not saying about anyone specific, just my observations. As mentioned, drive your car like a race car, be prepared to repair it like a race car, ie often. ;)
