The search feature is at the top, for future reference.

H7 main, H3 fog, don't know about highs.

bulbs

i tried conducting a search, but to no avail. so i thought i'd ask & get soem 1st hand knowledge.

regardign the headlight, you are talking about the outer bulb, the one covered buy the rubber boot? with the white fe-male plug? because the H7 bulbs i have don't fit! the prongs (male end) of the bulb, are spaced closer together, than either the stock bulbs or the female part of the white plug! so they don't fit! this is what is totally confusing me, and why i was asking someone who had themselves actually installed new bulbs!

many thnkas again for any & all help!

Oh I forgot about those things. When you pull the H7 out of the car there is a little black piece you have to pull off and put on the new bulb. If I remember correctly it's pretty damn hard to get off. If you need to know how to get the fog lights out let me know. Good luck.

bulbs

Yeah deff, if you could mail me with a link or instructions on how to change the bulbs in my fogs, i'd totally appreciate it!!! :D
my e-mail is jchambers@vhb.com

cheers again,

bloke - fogs are definitely H3. there is a previous thread you can search for providing installlation instructions. it's pretty easy, one bolt from underneath to free the fog light housing, and then from the front, just two screws to remove the lens from the light and you can replace the bulb.

right read & understud how to do the main & low beams, but like the above post indicates, the H7's i bought don't fit!>???? the prongs on the back of the bulb are too narrowly spaced for the white plug receptor?

i was interested in knwoign how to replace the fog bulbs.

To replace the factory H7's with another bulb you must remove the black adapter attached to the factory bulb after its been removed. Slide a regular screwdriver down between the silver back of the factory bulb & the black adapter & gently pry them apart. Once apart slide the black adapter back on the new H7 bulb & insert into the lens housing.

For the record its H7's for low, 9005 for Highs & H3's for Fog lights

As far as the Fog lights go. Theres 1 main bolt mounted behind the bumper, once its been removed remove the 2 Philips head screws on each side of the fog light. Pry open the lights & disconnect the plug, there's only 1 wire going into the plug, the lights grounded via a silver bar that holds the bulb in place by pressure. The bulbs have grooves in each side of them, line that groove up with whats on the light housing.

Note: the wiring going into the back of the fog lights is not to be pulled out, you must remove the factory lens & inside is the plug & bulb!

OK, I'm goign to say it again, i tried last night, & for the love of god! the H7 bulbs i have don't fit in the headlight main beams. i'm talking about the light that is located on the outer most side. it has a spring clip, a rubber boot, & a white (female) pulg. the H7s i bought have male progs are spaced more narrowly together, than the originals!!! so what is wrong here? are the bulbs i bought wrong, is there more than one sixe of h7's?
I'm sorry to keep askign but i'm totally confused!!!
I know that the high beams are 9005's and that the fogs are H3's, but i'm going nuts trying to make these stupid H7's fit, the prongs on the nack of the bulb simply won't fit into the white plug!

cheers again  :(

Here's what you do. Take the stock bulb out, disconnect it from the socket, there you will see the bulb with a Black connector, disconnect the Black connector from the bulb, and you will find that it is a H7 Bulb. Plug the new Bulb into the connector and your done.

i appreciate what your saying mp5212, but the bulb your talking about with the black connector is actually the high beam one, which is the 9005 bulb, located towards the center of the car. again i am talking about the outer most bulb, the main headlight, NOT the highbeam, this bulb does not have a black socket or connector it has a white plug, rubber boot & metal clip that holds it in place, this is the bulb that i am trying to replace, the one that everyone tells me is H7! again, am i totally wrong here??

cheers

H4's for the main beam.

H4 is for SEDANS ONLY (H4 is dual filament, btw). P5s have separate hi/low beam bulbs, as evident by all the troubles Bloke is having identifying them...

Bloke, you don't happen to have access to a digital camera do you? Because if you can SHOW exactly what's confusing you maybe some of the P5 owners can more accurately explain what's going on....

yep, i'll try that, also, i belive i may have gotten ripped off, i bought the bulbs off e-bay, they were fairly cheap ($24.99)

they might be bad bulbs, becasue if you offer the stock H7's up to the new ones i got, you can see an obvious difference in the shap & size of the bulb.

cheers

hehe i'm double posting here and the 'other' board :D, but take a side-to-side pic of the stock bulb and the bulb you got from eBay. I highly suspect what you got from eBay is actually H4/9003 bulbs...
