i like the hood, its looks awesome and it very well made. no cracks or mess ups, but it shakes like a slut at a drinking competition (boobs) on the highway.

the hood fits perfect, the bolts are tightened as best as they can be, but i still get the shaking and bouncing. we also adjusted the the springs so much air can't get under it, its not that bad but still... its does shakes and bounces.

is this normal,

thanks a lot everyone for you help

Yes for a cf hood thats normal because of its lightweight and mostly non existant underframe . did you install hood pins? If not id do it before going on the highway again.

yes ive had my vis hood for 5 months now and it bounces on the freeway. hood pins are reccomended, but ive had no problem with mine so far.

Got any (pics) ....

No hood pins on mine... never have problem with it , it just bounce a bit at higher speed

are the vents functional ? and how much loot cakes ? after shipped...... long wait ? bla bippity bla yea C F !!!!

I've had mine for several months and mine does the same. I made a little brace thing to go across the underside to help. It did a little, but still shakes like crazy. I am going to get some hood pins, because I think after a while, the mounting will probably give around the mounting hook.

Also, the damn thing has little bubbles in it all over the place. They aren't that bad, but you can see if you look. I saw a race car's CF wing have the same bubbles, so it made me feal a little better. But now there's a little crack forming in the upper left main vent. These things are pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for.

yea, hood pins are for safety. i read that if you drive a lot with the giggling the hood can warp after a while.. especially with the VIS w/it being a fiberglass base hood

I can't remember the thread name, but if you do a search on Vis CF hoods you should find it. There was a member who was having the same problems, so he went to the dealer and bought the weather stripping for are stock hood, then put it on the Vis carbon fiber hood, think he used some type of epoxy to attach it. I remember he said it fixed the rattling noise when driving at high speeds. FYI

Buy the sparco hood pins they look great and are easy to work with. mine did the same thing bounced around alot my buddy had one on his gsr and it blew off. So buy the hood pins. they work!!!!!!!!!!
