oil /grease leaking on the clutch??

is it even possible, if so what is the deal?

I noticed my clutch was very slippery when driving this morning and it turns out there is literally some sort grease on the clutch and on the footrest area next to it. very slippery.

I haven't had any work done on the car recently so don't know where its coming from. I suppose it is possible there was a pool of grease / oil somewhere in the parking lot, but seems highly unlikely....

thx for any thoughts on what is going on w/ the clutch.

are you talking about the clutch itself or the clutch pedal in the car? you probably just stepped in something before getting in and driving. i did that once and it must have been some sort of grease cuz the pedal was slippery for a couple months straight (old miata)

ah good point, clutch pedal.

yeh after driving it again a few times today it seems a-ok, just wiped down the pedal and made sure it was dry.

yea cuz if you meant the clutch itself then you'd be screwed until you got a new one
