I have tried my hardest to learn everything I could learn about the oil cooler but so far I have not had any luck. I have looked on autozone and this is the part that shows I need but I can't see where in the car it is. I need to replace it because the dealership tells me I have a leak in the oil cooler. I have searched for instructions to replace it but I haven't been able to find any. When I go to forums I hear instructions and see diagrams that seem not to apply to a Mazda CX 7.

Any help please!?! It's really needed!!!

There is a seal on ebay right now. if you look it up for 20 bucks. It goes between the oil cooler and the oil filter housing.

I took the oil cooler off already but I'm not sure what would be better-to buy a new oil cooler the costs more than $350 or to buy just the gasket? would just replacing the gasket be enough?

The gasket is not available as far as I know, you must buy the complete assembly. The new cooler is a better design and the gasket will not be eaten by oil and leak like the stock ones do. They are very common to leak I used to see them all the time. If you are competent it is not a hard job to do.
