pretty good video, few mistakes like he didnt run the engine to leak check it. Most people run the engine, then shut it off, then wait as long as you can THEN pull the dip stick. Some fill the filter full of oil before installing. I did as a young truck mechanic because those filters held a 1/2 gallon and you dont get oil px till your filter is full, bad for your motor. Small car engines I dont fill the filter. but the best, and I do mean the BEST part of this video starts at 5:25 ... wait for it, wait for it ...

It never even occurred to me to remove the filter before draining the oil. It is fascinating how many people think they have the knowledge to make a how to video that shouldn't

I hate not seeing Mazda moly oil and OEM oil filter; and didn't say anything about a new crush washer for drain plug. But I still appreciate him doing this video with tight space and dirty hands. I wouldn't do it.

I always pull the filter first just for the reason that you see in the vid, sucks to drop the filter in a gallon of hot dirty oil. (not that I have EVER done that!o;) The 8mm allen tool looked kind of loose, it was jambed in there. On my ford focus you had to pull 8 screws to drop the entire bottom deflector so just 3 fasteners will be nice. I only have 500mi on mine.
