OH MY GOD Atlanta is having a run on Gas

I am getting really tired of this s***. I am so sure you could just up and leave your house right now and leave everything behind if there was a storm coming. You see what happend there? Mass looting the second the cops are gone, what if the storm wasn't that bad? Well, you left your house and everything you had was stolen. What if you didn't have a car to drive out of the city? What if you couldn't afford to stay in a hotel after the shelters are full (and believe me they do fill up)?

You have no clue.

None of that s*** would be worth my life. If my life is in danger I'm not going to stick around. I can live without possestions.

But like I said before. There were alot of people that tried to get out and couldn't. That's why I donated $150 to the red cross yesterday.

actaully many ppl did try and leave but some just couldnt make it out in time. a friend at works mother lived right where everything happened and she drove straight the hell out of there when she caught first wind of the storm and it took her 37 hours straight to get to FL! like 20+ was just getting out of LA, there was terrible traffic of all the ppl leaving and mass panic. think about that b4 u say u would have gotten out so easily.

Like i said, homeowners insurence covers all your junk. On 9-11, when i ran out of the pentagon I thought there was gonna be bombs dropped on my house. I was ready to drive the hell out of the city.

considering the amount of poverty in the affected areas an extremely high percentage of people did not have homeowners insurance or flood insurance. this means that most of them will lose everything they own. And if they chose to stay they may lose their lives as well. i dont understand how you can not see that many of these people had no choice but to stay. they couldnt afford gas at some of the rediculous prices. the elderly and many of those that have chronic health conditions couldnt leave due to a lack of physical ability to do so. yet it seems that a lot of people are saying that they are stupid for not leaving. i assure you that if they could have found a way out many more people would have left.

P.S. my english teacher nabbed a guy for jackin up his prices. $5 for reg $7 for mid $9 premium. he is now facing up to a $5,000 fine for each transaction. completely and totaly awesome.

You DO understand that 80% of the city left, right? The only people that are left are the ones who went to the shelters (which turned out to not be that safe afterall) and the extremly poor who had no other options but to stay.
