Official Thread: Next-Gen Ford Focus

Ford's 10 Focus variants by 2012

Of the proposed 10 Focus variants due by 2012, Ford has already shown the C-Max and Grand C-Max MPVs.

The Detroit-launched hatchback and saloon models will hit the market early next year, although there will not be a three-door hatch. An estate will soon follow.

three-door coup a rival for Volkswagens Scirocco is also known to be in the frame, and Ford is considering a soft-top convertible that would replace the folding hard-top Focus CC, which has not been a success and will not be directly replaced.

Both of those variants are likely to be most popular in the US, where they could conceivably be made and shipped in modest numbers back to Europe.

Throw in two versions of the next Kuga a regular model and a longer-wheelbase seven-seater, also likely to be popular in America and you have nine.

The tenth will be an electric version of the car.

Yes, love the design, more the hatchback than the sedan, but really nice...

i used to be an anti-Ford guy. I was raised in a GM household, but here lately I keep looking at Ford when I think of a new car to buy. The Focus and Fusion and looking great, plus I like the fact that they didn't take any government funds.

i wonder if it will actually look like this when it hits the show room floor!

Booh, damn Search. Could you merge and I delete all the repeat pics? (boom02)

one can only hope it hits showroom floors JUST LIKE THAT

they would sell hundreds of thousands, if priced right

I'd expect it to. Ford wasn't doing any concept cars at Detroit this year, they wanted to focus on what was actually coming out. It was an interesting strategy, but I think it worked. They might tweak them slightly based on feedback, but expect those to be 95%+ accurate to the production model.

have you heard of what that feedback might have entailed?

my one question about the hatch taillights is why does the passenger side have what looks like a seperate body panel underneath the tapered part of the taillight and the driver side doesnt?

also: 1 more time

If that steering wheel makes it into production....and we get a duratorq option...i might just trade in the golf for one :)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say... gas filler lid.
