official pats thread

oh my....I hate football, and even I know...
the New England Patriots.

I noticed they were playing earlier...when i went to the bathroom the roomate were watching them play whoever they are playing

That wasn't a game, they weren't playing. they were just walking the ball down the field. I had the game on while I was cooking (red whine is the s***!!)
They plan at home next week right?

man Maroney is a blast to watch. He absolutely dominated the bengals. I think half the cinci defense is waking up with a stiff neck this morning from all the stiff arming maroney gave them.
It was hilarious to watch them bounce off his hand.

21st pick!!!

TWENTY ONE!!

incredible value...he will go higher than 21 in the fantasy drafts of ALL players in the NFL next fall.

players taken before him:
1. Houston - Mario Williams, DE North Carolina State
2. New Orleans - Reggie Bush, RB USC
3. Tennessee - Vince Young, QB Texas
4. N.Y. Jets - D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT Virginia
5. Green Bay - A.J. Hawk, LB Ohio State
6. San Francisco - Vernon Davis, TE Maryland
7. Oakland - Michael Huff, DB Texas
8. Buffalo - Donte Whitner, S Ohio State
9. Detroit - Ernie Sims, LB Florida State
10. Arizona - Matt Leinart, QB USC
11. Denver (from St. Louis) - Jay Cutler, QB Vanderbilt
12. Baltimore (from Cleveland) - Haloti Ngata, DT Oregon
13. Cleveland (from Baltimore) - Kamerion Wimbley, DE/OLB Florida State
14. Philadelphia - Broderick Bunkley, DT Florida State
15. St. Louis (from Atlanta through Denver) - Tye Hill, Cb Clemson
16. Miami - Jason Allen, DB Tennessee
17. Minnesota - Chad Greenway, LB Iowa
18. Dallas - Bobby Carpenter, LB Ohio State
19. San Diego - Antonio Cromartie, CB Florida State
20. Kansas City - Tamba Hali, DE Penn State

obviously hind sight is 20/20 and a lot of those players (leinart/bush/young/ferguson) will develop over time into big stars but wow....what an eye for talent. Hard to believe so many defensive backs were taken before him.

especially when you see the teams above that could use a RB. I understand that they may also have other position needs; and a lot of GMs thought the RB market was saturated and so they could pick a decent RB for close to nothing. Too bad GOOD RBs dont go for nothing.

wow what a show that was... i really think maroney is learning a lot from dillon (like that stiff arm!!) and to hit tacklers instead of being hit... damn couple times dillon went into the line and you just hear "pop... pop" and there he was running out the other side with two guys hangin on to him and he is still chuggin away... i love the RB combo we have... and with gabriel (sp?) stepping it up and caldwell starting to get it... though he could have had whatever he got knocked the F^&* out of his head on that hit he took... our recievers are looking better...

and our front 7 are nasty!!! if we can just stay healthy in the secondary i think it will work out well on D. damn those are some big ass dudes we got playing on the line warren, wilfork and seymor have to be one of the best YOUNG d-lines in the league...

Couldn't have said it better myself. I really don't think we have as much to worry about as people were thinking (or still do think). This is certainly not the same team that won the Superbowl (pick a year), but it has a lot of talent on it that will come together throughout the season. We may lose 4 or 5 games this season, but I think we will do very well come the post season (as long as we don't play the Broncos ;)). The running game is there (over 200 yards yesterday!), front line of the defense is there, we just need some more fine tuning with recievers and the secondary. Oh, and the new Vinitiari needs some more on field experience. Should be a good season though.

everytime I see that d'brickishaw ferguson pick at #4, I have an immediate full body seizure.. what a waste

pats will win the east no probs...maybe 11 and 5?

i think the bears are the only team that should beat them. granted anything can happen with the divisional games but I dont see any problem with the pats' double team running game stomping the colts. Vikings and Jags could be threats but I dont worry about the jags and I dont think the vikings are as good as the bengals..

agreed there. I only worry about having to play denver in the playoffs but if everything goes as i think it may we wont have to worry about it.
I think plummer is not mentally strong enough and he is seeing ghosts behind his back because of the young QB holding the clipboard. He may be shitting himslef comes play off time and then choke when he meets the pats.

i dont fear the broncos, i ******* hate them

they were so bad last year that the pats, who played terribly in that playoff game, would have still beaten them were it not for the absurd calls that were made. broncos blow.

Jerious Norwood.... Picked in the 6th round. Remember that name.

i can't stand the broncos either... how the hell do we end up playing them so much??? that is one thing i just don't understand... you see our injury report this week?? not very pretty lots of guys (especially the secondary) on it as doubtful and questionable....

anyone else notice troy brown playin on D again... maybe the secondary is worse off then i thought...?? we need to get more pressure on the QB to give our banged up secondary a shot... then again we are playin the phins... god i thought they would be good this year wtf happened there?

true but they had some sort of mental collapse in the second half cause it was a close game until then... nov 5 against the colts and nov 23 against the bears should be a good measuring stick as to play offs and s***... hell the 23 could be a super bowl match up... da' bears are the real deal this year.

what happened to the phins? Daunte Cullpepper happened.
i think our defense will be fine. our line puts enough pressure that the QB has no time to go deep enough to hurt us. the only downside is that we probably will have trouble covering the mid range passes to the outside giving a lot of 1st downs.

BTW i may be getting hooked up with tix to the colts game. section 109 row 8 for those that know th seating format at gillette. they usually go for 600+ i got them for face value.
