Official P5 wheel thread.

I plan to paint my rear valance this weekend. The black fools the eye into thinking the car is lower. That will help a bunch since I am still rolling on stock springs.

can anyone help... 17x7.5 +45 on 225/40/17. sitting on stech and rolled fenders. any issues?? anyone on similar set-up?

I have 18x7 on megan racing with no stretch or roll. I have a slightly lower drop than you and I'm on a 35 series tire. No issue. How old are the struts?

the wheel that are being replaced were 18x7.5 +42 on 215/35/18. stock struts still. but with a smaller wheel and higher offset i was hoping that i could widen the tire some and keep issues to a minimum.

I know Bikingpro5 is on 18x8.5 and coils without stretching or flaring. my 18x7's are +52, I think the 18x8.5 are +54 (not too sure). Do you have a picture of how it sits?

usual rubbing with people in the back (stopped offering rides to people) or any substantial load in the back. Honestly i knew i was going to have issues before hand and not too worried now. just want to know if i will have more with the wider tire considering the other factors of the smaller wheel.

You will end up with a larger diameter wheel/tire setup. An 18" wheel on a 35 series tires is the same diameter as a 17" wheel on a 40 series tire. Your 17" on a 45 series will be larger. 45 series is preferred for a 16" wheel and by running it on your 17" will throw your speedometer off a bit cause you to speed without knowing it. You can see in the picture below the tire and wheel difference in the background represented by the rings

I'm on 225/45-17 with 17x7 +45 Rays wheels lowered on BC coilovers (not slammed) with rolled rear fenders and no back seats (no fatty passengers) and I'll only get a little bit of rub in the front at full lock under hard cornering. I'm sticking with 225's from now on.

A fellow P5 owner told me at Mid-Ohio this summer "Your tires are too big.". Lulz.

Scored a set of really nice condition MSP Racing Harts off craigslist and a couple of spare center caps recently. Tokico Blues and Tein S-techs are on their way as well. Now just to wait until the tires wear down on the stock P5 rims :)

Thats cool and i had a feeling with the 45 series thats why i wanted 225/40 not 225/45.

And a very nice score indeed, such great stock wheels.

@NoFear1911-looks good, painted the valance seems to be trending, wouldnt look bad esp since you have the bumper pad.
what it would look like..but yellow...

I plan on doing the same to mine, except painting my valance blue. I have a silver Proto and pretty much all of my accents are either blue or black...I think it would look better blue
