Odd Lugnuts

Ok, I went to swap tires/rims from my P5 to my MSP yesterday, only to discover that the Konig Rims on the P5 use a wierd (unique?) lugnut.

It's not hex shaped like "normal" lugs, it's almost circular with grooves cut into it. A normal impact socket will take them out, but then the socket is so tightly wedged against the flat parts of the socket that you can't separate the two. Tightening the lug back on with the impact will free the lug and socket.

I've never seen this type of lug before, of course I've seen locking lugnuts and what have you to prevent theft, but only one per rim. All the lugnuts on the P5 are this way.

Anyone seen this before or can tell me what they are and what tool I need to remove them? I can't even replace them at this point without buying 20 impact sockets and tossing them with the lugnuts once they're removed. (I tried forcefully removing them with a sledgehammer, a vise, and a steel rod but all I did was ding up the lug face)

sounds like you have muteki lugnuts

small diamater/ spline tuner style. go to a tire shop and see if they have a key for them

I ran into an issue like that with my last car. My scion tc had DrifZ rims on it when I bought it, and had the spline style lugnut. They said the tool was in the back of the car or glovebox. Looked for it the next month when I went to install my lowering springs, couldn't be found. After looking at shops all over east TN, nobody had the tool. Took it back to the dealership. Luckily it was in one of the guys tool box who put new tires on it. Just saying you might want to try to track down the tool to save you trouble.

If it's the style justanothermp5 posted, I've got a spare key in my toolbox. $5 for shipping and it's yours.

Thanks guys, they look like the ones in the picture. I'll check the center console and hope they're there.
