Odd A/C problem

The other day I noticed that my A/C was not cooling as good as it has been. I did some listening and checking and it seems that the A/C cools better if it's running at an idle. If it's running or I'm turning up some RPM's the air warms up. I brought it to a shop and they said that they put some R134 in it. It was after this that I noticed that it's not cooling while running. Do these cars have the expansion valves or resevoir. <sp?> Do you think I should take down the whole system and recharge it?

BTW, the ambient temp is close to 100F. The temp out of the vent on low and outside air is about 44F idle, 60F while driving.

It should only blow warm at WOT (computer disengages the compressor for more Saturn-killing POWA' )

so.

With the hood up/engine running/air ON

Watch the compressor/listen - cycle the air on and off so you can see/hear the compressor engage and disengage. Get used to sensing what it looks/sounds like.

Now turn on air & have someone give it revs until it blows warm - did the compressor disengage?
>could be low freon
>bad clutch/compressor
>check for loss of 12VDC siganl at the switch on the comrpessor and troubleshoot from there...

Stayed engaged?
Beats Me!
