OBX Headers on Ebay?

Good header. But, you do get a cel. You can do MIL elimintor to get rid of it, or the spark plug non fouler. Usually sell quick, so if you get the chance, get it.

I dunno...they do a lot of business, but they have a loooooot of neg feed back (put the "Items per page" at 200 and go down the list on just page one...that doesn't even bring you out of this month). A lot of happy customers, but it would suck to be one of those 3%...

The header is a bolt on item. The Ractive is the one you need a muffler shop to put a 2nd bung in for $25. Eitehr way, you gotta do a mil eliminator or spark plug non-fouler trick for the o2 sensor, to avoid the CEL. Search for the MIL and spark plug non fouler, and you will find more threads than you can read in a day.

I have the Ractive, and it was no big deal to have the 2nd bung welded in, but i have not seent hem for sale in a while.

I have a question regarding the addition of a header, including the OBX. I'm a newb to the P5, but not to tuning as I had a ceramic coated 4-2-1 on my autoX Escort GT.

Why build a header that requires the purchaser to modify with the addition of a 2nd bung? Just curious. I've looked into adding a header to the P5 but they all seem to require this modification.

The OBX has the bung welded on, no modification needed. The reason you need to use a MIL or non-fouler fix is that the P5 has a pre-cat that is removed which will throw off the sensors.

Im not sure why they dont build in a non fouler fix so it is plug and play.

I bought my obx from ebay, it came fine.

because the non foulers plug into the O2 sensor AFTER the header, not the one that goes in the header

But the OBX comes with 2 O2 bungs anyways. Both of them plug INTO the header...

Thats strage, because the non-fouler fix that is screwed into my obx (not after) seems to be working just fine.

arg, you guys are correct, sorry
I was picturing things wrong, been a while since I've been under the hood of my P5!

Either way, selling it with an extended bung is not cool, as the fix doesn't work for all exhaust setups and some people use other methods to eliminate the CEL...

Curious, but why is it 'not cool'? You gotta plug in your 02 sensor anyway and
if for some reason it doesn't work, you can still try another method.

Curious too. Who has OBX header with 2 non foulers in the 2nd bung that still got CEL? Never had CEL myself with this setup. If so, was the solder rewire method all that fixed it or did that even make it go away? Did anybody that still had CEL have other things different like maybe a MP3 ecu? What else would make it OK for so many but not for others?

Yeah, I wish my Ractive would've had a 2nd bung. I had to zip tie mine to the engine bay with the MIL eliminator so i wouldn't throw a code.

I should so do that if I don't have a midpipe in by the time I am due for emissions testing for the first time (I think during the summer maybe).

does anyone here know if the MAM midpipe has an o2 sensor? if it does that means im gonna have to extend the second sensor. What would i do about the second bung on the OBX header? I've baugght both, i just need them to come in =(

Just get a threaded plug or another o2 sensor & leave it in the header unconnected just to fill hole or have shop weld it shut if you're sure you will not need to use it ever or won't be trying to sell header later. Might fail visual if unconnected wires dangling so hide them.

Heh, it works great, but i think i eventually it stopped working, because about 700 miles later it came back on.
