Mazda3Online is now carrying H&R Sport Springs for the Mazda3!! These springs lower the car 1.3 inches from the stock height. http://www.hrsprings.com/site/frameproducts.html

Suggested retail on these springs is $330. We will be offering a "grand opening" price of $275 shipped to members of these forums until March 1st, 2004. PM, email or post if interested!

Anyone have any idea what the ride is like?

Will any camber kits or such be needed or is the Mazda 3 easily adjustable for proper alignment?

1.3 inches is a pretty big drop. I don't know if a camber kit will be necessary, but I am highly inclined to believe that some sort of tuning will have to be done to account for the drop.

How so?

The Tein springs for the protege drop 1.3/1.8 IIRC. I don't know what other tuning you have to do...other than alignment once springs are installed and settled.

Camber kits are not required for these springs. Most spring sets, like the Eibach Pro Kit and the aforementioned Tein Springs have not required any additional tuning or kits.

Tire rack is selling the same springs for $197.

that price, although good, is without shipping and when I clicked to get a shipping quote came up as "special order only". This usually means there is an additional charge from the distributor. Still, I will admit to that being an excellent price considering what suggested retail is :)

actually, the grand total comes to $218.34 using fedex 2 day shipped to 90703. There is no special fee for this, it just doesn't ship out as fast.

Damn! I thought I wasn't going to spend more money on my car yet. But now I think I'll have to.

I tried to order the springs from Tire Rack and was told they were on back order for 6 to 12 weeks

:(

I called Roger at H and R springs directly and they're stating that they have yet to release the product (yes the springs for the '04 Mazda 3). It will be available in Summer for 2004.

Just fyi.
