Hi, guys. What do you pay for your MSP car insurance in the Northern Virginia area? Please list your age, how many tickets and accidents in the last 3 years, your deductibles, etc. Thanks in advance.

Because I just moved to VA, still have everything registered in my old state and am about to buy an MSP registered here. Are those points enough?

I know there are some Speed owners in NoVA, both male and female. If you haven't already crossposted this to the VA board, I recommend trying that.

not really because everyones rate will vary greatly... your best bet is to go and get quotes yourself. someone telling you what they pay wont help, sometimes someone with the same record will pay alot more or alot less

Yes, I'm very aware of this. I used to sell car insurance (I have my P & C insurance license and used to have my L & H before it expired), but I just wanted a ball park figure. I'm not sure if my State Farm agent in Tennessee is licensed to sell insurance policies in Virginia or not yet, and it would be great if he is because I get my insurance for half of other places (my agent and my step dad have been doing business together for 40 years). I wanted to know around what insurance is here first, then I will get quotes myself as I get closer to buying it (if I do buy it. I know what my payments will be, but if my insurance is just too high, I'll stick with my LS).

18 years old, clean record, 03 p5, ~$3000
18 years old, reckless ticket, speeding, 03 P5 ~$7200

...yearly...

Fairfax County PD just broadened their force with a Street Racing + Drugs Institute out near Westfield HS in Chantilly.

They aren't playing around with traffic tickets. I am one of three friends I know that've lost their license for 6 months for a "general" reckless ticket. After loosing your license picking up insurance is near impossible.

Insurance is already high here!

That's what others have told me, too. Good thing I live in Alexandria city and not in Fairfax county, nor do I have to go to Fairfax county on a regular basis.

Its pretty sick, there's three unmarked z-28's, a black wrx, and a fully marked z0-6 vette.

Oddly enough the president of the local mustang club heads the street racing division...(uhm)

I'm a bit confused about what you mean by "general" reckless, do you mean they got a 20mph+ ticket or were driving, well, recklessly?

FCPD is a monster that's out of control. I have full confidence that they'll be trapping if I'm speeding, I have no confidence that they'll be around when actual crime is going on.

Reckless is any means of needlessly endangering life limb or property.
It's the most often distributed ticket as the level of disgression allows for so much variability. You can, (and I have seen) a reckless ticket for things like no turn signals and people on bicycles.

On a more sensible level these are typically geared for those who drive like dumbasses in the parking lot, hop medians, drive on the shoulder, pass on the right, etc...or in my case, 'breaking traction'

...assholes
